She kept talking.

A repetition of words and continuous phrases and questions of what really matter. I kept listening, yet I'd partially zone out once I heard the third repeat of anxiety.

My eyes left hers, slowly drifting to the post-it-note that was screaming at me in hurried capitals 'DON'T FORGET TO STUDY FOR THE FINALS!!! :)'. So much for that. My gaze lowered and stopped on a stack of overdue assignments. Geez, what am I doing...

I'd been up all night listening. Giving her this vague chance to say something more. It never happened.

One.

Two.

Three.

It had been three times now. A constant circulation of her lonely thoughts within this void she had entrapped herself within and apparently myself. Man, I really did feel trapped. It was two in the morning, and I'd let myself become a victim of her gaze.

One.

Again.

Two.

No change. Not even a slight stutter or break.

Three.

I glanced at the time on my monitor. Four. Four in the morning. This is why your failing school... Well done. Your being seduced by lonely anime school girls. Lonely anime school girls who like to kill one another, hope your proud.

I sighed, and guided the mouse cursor towards the red cross.

I stopped. Hesitant at first.

Her green eyes- emerald, if I was to be truthfully honest, directly gazed into my own. Could I give her one more chance?

I guided the cursor towards the pink text box, my eyes drooping from a need to sleep. Stay awake a little longer... That's all I'm asking. Another hour, then we can sleep...

I blinked rapidly at the monitor for a few hours, the brightness of the screen now stinging my aching eyes, and began to form a blurry edge to it. Monika began to blur out into nothing. Stay awake...

Each passing second became sluggish and torturous, this continuous cycle everlasting.

Then darkness overcame me without a second thought at the mention of her piano. She had such a sweet voice... It's echoes draining my head of every worry, clogging it full of sorrow and deep remorse as sleep hit me.
