Lament of regret

Flowing ink and Wandering thoughts.
I sigh, as I write what time has brought.
We thought we can be together forever.
We thought we were in love with one another.
We thought we were made for eternity.
But, this love of ours has cause us fatality.
Into the ocean of hope we kept diving.
For the affinity of our hearts we kept striving.
But so much alike we were that we kept refusing.
As two identical sides of magnets would keep repulsing.
The water of pride we drank everyday,
Growing the seed of ego even as we pray.
What could prayer do anyway?
When our actions it is that led us astray.
We were together, we are no more.
We shall forever regret therefore,
That the fruit of our ego is us being apart,
And that our hearts stink, worse than a fart.
I wish time could go back to favor us,
And that we could change things be it by force.
If ego and pride we have set aside,
To the rules binding couples we might have abide.
But see us today, our heads bow down,
And in the ocean of regret we drown.
For letting us part I hate me, for letting us stray.
And I want you to hate you the same way.
So we could see the truth and maybe come back together.
So we could rebound our hearts and live... happily... forever.
