The Hood Didn't Break Me

"We'll see what we can do tonight," Amera said as she walked off to catch up with Sa. When they got back to the house they went upstairs to Sahara's room. Mera sat on the floor so that she could start getting her hair braided.

"Girl you know Chuck will fuck you up if he sees you with Brown."

"Girl, please! I just wanna see what Brown sexy ass can do. You know you used to want his tall, thick, built self."

Sa couldn't do nothing but agree. She used to want to taste his caramel. And she had to admit he still looked good as she thought about how good he looked a minute ago. "Yeah you right. But you ain't gotta be all on that man dick." Mera smiled and said, "I ain't on it yet." Sahara burst out laughing, "You nasty!" They both couldn't help but laugh. They watched The Four Brothers as Sa finished braiding her hair. Sa mother Charnice came and poked her head in the door to speak to the girls and let Sahara know that she was home and going to take a nap. They called Janelle back to see if she was going to the party. She decided not to go so they told her they'd call her later. After Sa was finished the braids they took showers and found something to wear to the party. The party started at nine. Sahara told her mother that she would go get her something to eat before they left. They drove to Silver Moon's to get something to eat. They took Charnice food back to the house and ate. By time they left it was 10 o'clock.

"I'm gonna dance my pain away. I got problems. Whoooooa,whoooooooa." That was the sound of the music coming from the party. When they pulled up it was 10:30. It was niggas outside on the porch smoking blunts tryna holla at every girl that walked by. Sitting out there with them was Janelle's baby daddy, Tony. As they approached the house they spoke to the people they knew. Tony asked about Janelle. Sa told him that she was home even though he thought she was with a nigga.

The house was jumping off as they walked into the party. Sahara was getting her party on since Jamar was gone for the weekend. She was dancing with everybody. It seemed like after she danced with them Amera was right behind her. Amera was dancing with this boy named Quan when Chuck walked up on her. She didn't notice that Quan had stepped off. When she turned around she saw that she was dancing with Chuck. She tried to hide her surprise. Sahara shook her head as she saw them walk off into the kitchen. She knew they probably were arguing because Chuck is the jealous type. She just kept on dancing. She danced the night away. All of a sudden it was a loud noise and all of this commotion. Everyone went to see who was about to fight. When she stepped outside she saw that it was Tony and Tae. When Tae walked up Tony straight up told him he better stay away from his daughter. Tae trying to show off in front of his cousin started popping off at the lip. He told Tony that he was just mad because he had his daughter calling him daddy. Tony banged him straight off the top. Sahara grabbed Tony and pulled him down the street. Tae stood holding his jaw and everyone was laughing. His cousin stood beside him looking dumb founded as he stood there spitting out blood.

"Yo I swear that nigga better stay away from me!" Tony said furiously as he rolled a blunt on the corner. Sahara told him to calm down while she called Janelle.

"Hello," Janelle answered the phone.

"Nell, girl Tony and Tae was out here about to fight. Tony banged the shit out of Tae." Sa couldn't help but laugh.

"What! You for real? Where they at now?"

"Tony right here. Hold on." Sahara told Nell as she gave Tony the phone.

"Yeah, you need to keep ya lil boyfriend in check."

"What?" Nell asked, "What the hell is wrong with you?"
