I knew where I was going until I looked into her eyes. Then, like diving into the ocean, I was crushed by her waves. From that moment I knew I would never be the same again. I would be forever lost in the vastness of her beauty. She had yet to speak, but I knew her voice singing to my soul.

She glanced at me. My body warmed. The shirt I was wearing became uncomfortable. A desert seemed to have taken residence in my throat. A casual wink brushed across her face and dipped into a sly smile.

Was that for me?

I stood, slightly wavering in her gaze. She had me without even trying. I couldn't see anything else, but her eyes. A storybook fantasy turned page after page with each second. My heart weaved through my rib cage, and punched my chest.

Her attention dropped to her friends, releasing me. I inhaled without realising I had stopped breathing. Taking the last sip of her drink, she placed it down and moved away from her seat. Running her fingers through her hair, she pushed it back, looking at me sideways.

I had yet to move. I couldn't.

Ten steps.

Ten steps and she would be right in front of me. I counted them, with each click of her heel against the wooden floor.

"Hello," she said grasping my forearm. Somewhat tilting her head, she locked her eyes on mine.

A few seconds of indecipherable grunts and moan greeted her, then followed by thin drool from the corner of my mouth. Yet, her gaze didn't waver. It almost appeared to have smiled.

Moving her hand towards mine, she twirled her forefinger along my skin. If it wasn't for the pole I was leaning against, I fear I would've melted to the floor.

"You know," she whispered, placing her free hand on my chest, "it's quite impolite to not greet a woman." Playing with my third button, she brushed a strand of hair over my ear. Her perfume was pulled behind it. A faint moan escaped my lips as I briefly closed my eyes.

How could I have fallen so easily?

Swallowing hard, I took a deep breath. "Hi."

Dropping her hands to her side, she laughed. "Oh, Adam. Why do you do this every time you see me?"

Her laugh broke the trance and I smiled. "Because, it's like seeing you for the first time."

Pulling me in for a kiss, she murmured against my lips, "You've known me for two years."

Sliding my lips across hers, I savoured her taste. "Yes," I said staring into her eyes. "But each time I look in your eyes, I forget."

Smiling, she placed her head to my shoulder and squeezed my bicep. "How lucky I am."

"No," I whispered into her hair, unsure if she could hear it. "I'm lucky to be able to fall in love with you all over again."
