It is easy, quick, fun and free to sign up for Animal Jam. First, go to www.animaljam.com, and press play, then "CREATE AN ANIMAL". It will load for a little bit, and then you'll hear a voice telling you to pick an animal. There's a selection of animals, free, available for new jammers. And they are a wolf, a land animal, rhino, bunny, tiger, seal, koala, a panda or a monkey. All of these are free, and no matter which one you pick, you can choose more animals later. Once you choose your animal, it's time to pick its name. You can randomize or even choose yourself, a name for your first starter animal. Now, it will take you to a form where you fill out your basic information. What you want your username to be, your password to be, your trusted e-mail address, your age, and your gender. The voice there will guide you through. And if you're a child, it clearly says you have to ask your parents before joining AJ. Next, as I said before, you put in your or your parent's trusted e-mail address. Then, it will give you the Animal Jam code of conduct. It tells you the good and bad things to do. Like, you should play nice, use kind words, and report bad jammers. And you shouldn't act inappropriate, cheat, scam, or steal, or give out your personal info. When you click "I Agree", you will be teleported to a forest with a bunny named Peck. Animal Jam has special animals called Alphas. You can't play as alphas, but they belong to the storyline behind Animal Jam. You can see them in Animal Jam adventures, and in a place beside The Diamond Shop. But we'll get to those later. You will follow Peck past a bridge until you see dozens of other animals. They will make automated comments, but they aren't real jammers. Just bots you see when you sign up. Peck introduces you to style, and then you get to customize your animal however you want. She shows you the colors, patterns, and eye colors and shapes. You have no items yet -- but when you do, they'll be right beside your animal's profile. Soon, she lets you pick an emoticon to show how you feel about joining, and then she gives you a chest of 1,500 gems. Gems are essential. By now, you should have the Color Me Rad award and the 1,500 gems award. After that basic introduction, she leads you out and you teleport to your den. Dens are like igloos on Club Penguin. It's like a little house, and you can decorate it, buy items for it, etc... host parties in it. She'll make you click on a little icon. These display your den items. Right now, you'll only have the basic items that come with being a "New Jammer" which is a jammer that just signed up. This tag should go away after a day, and then you should see your username you picked instead, so don't fret. She tells you how to move items around, rotate them, and delete them back into your inventory. After this, she lets you try. Now, you can buy your own items with your 3,500 gems, or buy clothing items.
