“Good morning sleeping beauty” said my dad flipping his pancake in the air

“i’m late for school I know” I said running everywhere like I forgot something “lunch” mom said with a serious tone handing me a bag with my lunch in it .

“my life savor , BYE love you” I shouted running out the door trying to get to class as fast as I can when I heard the sound of a car horn.

“I get why I’m late ,I always am….but you’re late because?” Roy said from his car “I woke up late” I stopped seeing him laugh .

“get in woman” he said all proud of himself “yeah yeah cut the act” I said hearing him laugh “chill Jen…they won’t kill you” he said all calm “like I care” I said as we arrived and parked the car both going out running through the hallway.

“Miss. West and Mr. Scott what a pleasant surprise” we heard the principal’s voice behind us “shit..” whispered Roy as we both turned to face our lovely principal .

“Sorry Sir I was cut up in…” said Roy when the principal interrupted him “Roy it’s no surprise for you ,but miss West .."

“I know I know you’re disappointed and all ,but since it’s my first time late can I get a free pass?” I asked so innocently and slowly saw a smile drawing on the principal’s face and a chuckle from Roy of course . “get out of here both of you” he said and continued his walk .

“nice safe West” said Roy when we both entered the class, I sat next to Melanie “you’re late!” whispered Melanie “you don’t say” I whispered back full of sarcasm “hey Jenny” turned John with his light green eyes facing me “hey John” I smiled .

“so what are you wearing today ?” asked Melanie both walking to the cafeteria “I don’t know Mel…it’s a house party I don’t feel like over dressing it you know?” I said sitting on our everyday table when I saw John and Roy?  Walking together coming our way both laughing .

“what’s so funny?” I asked taking a big bite of my red apple “nosy much?” said Roy with a smirk on his face “fine I don’t care” I said turning away when they both sat down “he told me a joke” said John next to me when I saw Roy roll his eyes .

“so you guys wanna chill before the party?” I asked “can’t” said Roy eating Melanie’s fries “why? you turned into a business man and I didn’t know? I asked when he smiled “nop I’m meeting someone” he said when Melanie let out a snort “the FBI I suppose” she said when he gave her a glare and made us all laugh.

“I’m meeting Nina” as soon as the words were said the bite of my apple inside my mouth totally went the wrong way and made me cough when I saw him smirk “good for you she’s really fun” I said drinking water “yeah she is” he said.

“okay great then John come over after school with Mel okay?” I said as John nodded with a big smile on his face.

We all met in front of the school and went to my house “beer?” I offered “sure” Mel and John said at the same time .

“so what’s the deal…between you and Roy?” John asked as Melanie smiled “we’re best friends” I said taking a sip of my beer bottle “oh…so he’s not your boyfriend?” he asked “obviously not” Melanie said poking John from the elbow that made him smile.

“okay so I guess I should go get ready , so do you girls” said John after two hours of conversation and laughter. shit it was already 9 PM .

“good idea” said Melanie a bit dizzy from the 4 beers she took.

“if you want I’ll pick you guys up” John proposed “that would be great” I said as he left and we both got dressed Melanie wore a beautiful black dress with heels as for me , a pair of jeans and an open back top with short black boots.

“you always make me look over dressed” Melanie said both heading to the door “you wanted to wear a dress missy” I said when we saw John in his beautiful Audi TT car .

“wow nice car” I said “thanks…” he said in a shy voice ,”rich much?” said Melanie her jaw dropping when I hit her with my boots on her feet “OUCH…sorry nice car John” she corrected when he turned around and she glared at me .

“We arrived at the party it was an open house party that Ian Hathaway threw, every Friday one of the rich kids of our school throws a huge party at their house and tonight was Ian’s turn , I like Ian he was a fun guy but mostly because he had a thing for Melanie for a long time and she knew about it but just played hard to get.

“Hey Ian” Mel and I said at the same time “hey beautiful girls” he said mostly meaning Melanie “this is John” I introduced "he’s new“ I said as they both shook hands . We got in people already dancing ,drinking, making out, like all the other parties . I took out my cigarette pack and lit a cigarette heading to Ian’s garden where most of the smokers where.

“yo” shouted Jack my cousin as I smiled hugging him probably my favorite person ever , and ever since he changed schools I felt like I barely saw him.

“How you been Jen?” he asked “good” I said handing him a cigarette as he took it and lit it “stoners that way” he said aiming at the group of guys who were pretty much looked high , their facial expression made me laugh.

“by the way since when Nina Austin is friends with Roy” he said letting out the smoke as I was heaving in smoke.

“since now…she moved to his hotel”  I said as he chuckled “what?” I asked , “nothing” he said looking away still laughing “tell me or I’ll burn your hand with my cigarette” that made him even laugh harder “you just seem annoyed about it” he said “I’m not annoyed I just don’t like her…she’s dumb” I paused “u know I do not like dumb human beings” I said as he laughed nodding a yes “of course I know” he said as we both threw our cigarettes away .

“I’m guessing your gonna like her less by now” he said pointing discretely at Nina and Roy coming in to Ian’s house both smiling like a lovely couple ugh I needed a drink.
