I woke up with a groan and walked into my bathroom. My shoulder length platinum blonde hair was tangled with dried blonde that stood out like white in black. I grabbed a brush tugged it threw my hair
I grabbed foundation to cover up all my bruise marks. My father got mad at me for not making dinner, so I got beaten. "Another day of eighth grade" I mumbled softly grabbing a ripped pair of black leggings and a white shirt.
"LUCY!" I ran to my father's room "Y-yes father?" I stuttered with fear. He terrified me. Ever since my Mother died he's been cold. "Where is my coffee?" he asked smirking his evil smirk. "Y-you never asked me for coffee," I said just loud enough for him to hear me.
"Oh but you should've known anyway," he walked towards me. "But what else should I have expected, from a child" he spat the words at me like fire then his hand came into contact with my skin and he slapped me. I quivered into the corner cowering. 'I-I'm sorry" I mumbled looking down. He tilted my head up with his finger and whispered: "Good now get a move on you don't want to be late for school."
I headed towards the door grabbing my books; I had given up on a backpack after my third one got ripped. I headed down the street to the school. I heard screams and ran faster, what the hell was that? I saw Caleb his gorgeous brown hair and blue eyes. But the water was getting poured onto him and I just stood there. I should help him. I knew that, but I couldn't... I would just make things worse.
But we were a team once, a long time ago. We were the misfits, the broken and shattered misfits. But we were friends and got through it together. That was until the school kids got worse, they decided the best way to hut me was hurting the people I cared for. So no they didn't hit me but that didn't stop them from teasing me. I snapped out of my thoughts when the sound of Caleb begging my name pierced my ears. "Lucinda PLEASE!" I heard him beg my name. "Once a Misfit always a misfit!" he said. It broke my heart because I knew that I was the one who broke up the group. But I had my reasons. "Caleb I-" I began but then stopped myself. I couldn't say it. "Look It's Depressed Debby and Stupid Sam," They chuckled. That was it, I ran over to them and punched the only one whose name I remembered...Gregory... But like everything in my life it didn't go well. He grabbed my wrist and put me in a headlock. "So Caleb I guess someone cares about you, even if she's a waste of a human body and life." He laughed as his friends stopped hurting Caleb.
Then they spit on me and threw me into a wall. I got up tears rolling down my eyes. I saw Caleb getting up but I couldn't do this anymore. I walked away and started back towards school.
I passed through the doors and to my locker. "So it's the girl who ruined her friend's lives," someone hissed into my ear. I made myself as small as possible and tried to back away, only to back into Kris. "Please just leave me Alone," I whispered defeated. "You're the one who left them all, for your own selfish reasons," the words felt like a knife stabbing through my body; a searing hot pain that heaved into my chest. "N-no I didn't I-it was for them," I managed to choke out of my throat. Then I saw Leopa fall to ground grunting, she had anxiety and was always worried. We where close once, she was a part of the Misfits.
I felt something sharp and hard hit my temples, then black and yellow spots started dancing in in my eyes. Then all I saw was blackness.
I saw us together under our tree. Everything was perfect. The sky was a pastel blue, the fluffy white clouds looked like cotton balls, and the sun a beautiful gold. Abigail never became deaf, Leopa was never anxious, Caleb never had autism, I was never depressed, and Felix never died, we were just friends. Normal friends, Gregory, and his friends were playing soccer instead of making our lives hell. It was perfect.
'Hello, Lucy!" Caleb exclaimed loudly
"Caleb" I screamed hugging him tightly
I turned to Abigail. She didn't have a whiteboard around her neck. She also spoke with a sense of joy and her British accent piercing into the wind like a bird on a windy day. "Lucinda" she put emphasis the da.
I smiled though. Hearing her voice was all different types of relaxing. I was tackled from behind and then kissed on the cheek.
"Luce!" Felix was holding onto me protectively, his nickname for me brought tears to my eyes.
"Felix I missed you so much," I tried to choke back tears but instead they came rolling fast.
"You left me all alone, you were dead.... because you tried to-" I was silenced by his lips, they were soft and gentle but full of passion. It felt like we were all alone.
I grabbed the front of his shirt pulling him close. His hand lay gently on my waist and I hooked my arms behind his neck.
It was all too soon that he pulled back; I missed him so damn much. Then it hit me, this is a dream...Felix is still dead and the misfits are still broken up.
"Felix I have to go, the longer I stay here the harder it will be to go back," I hugged him letting the tears flood my vision.
"I know Luce just don't give up, the past hurts I know but open old wombs and let the new ones show, it isn't your fault" he whispered and then the world around me started falling apart, white covered the floor and everyone vanished except Felix "Luce I loved you and still do but don't close yourself off to the world let love come in, It can be found in the cloudiest of times as long as you're strong enough to see threw the fog and find the clearing." he kissed my head and walked away into nothingness. Sorry For the short chapter Please review it is my motivation to write!
