He gazed into her sparking hazel eyes, beginning to kneel. "Jayla," he started, pulling a velvet box out of his left pocket. She couldn't believe it, the boy she had fallen in love with, so long ago... Was this really happening?
"Will you...marry me?" He finished. An awkward smile fell on her face, which was as genuine as could be. He knew he loved her, she knew he loved him, and they both knew if they could, they'd be married when they were still 14. This moment is one they had been waiting for their whole lives, the one to tie it all together. She knew her answer, ever since the first smile, that first kiss, the first "I love you". He knew he wanted her hand since the first time he laid eyes on her.
Without a moment's hesitation, she threw herself into his arms, repeating the word "yes" until her voice gave out. This is the moment they knew, they'd be together forever.
