Alone at night

You awoke at the sound of your parents finally coming home from a party. It was around 2am when you woke. You heard the front door open then close then footsteps coming towards you. You pretended to be asleep in order to avoid getting in trouble by your parents from still being awake. You heard your door open and then there was silence for a few moments. It became an eternity waiting for the door to close. You made up your mind to look to the door to see if your parents were still there. No one was at your door. You decided they might've forgotten to close the door. You tiptoed down to the kitchen to get a midnight snack. You looked over at the clock above the microwave "3:00am" it read. You walked over to the fridge to grab a snack and a drink as quietly as you could. You turned your phones flashlight on to see better when you noticed the front door lock broken. You walked towards the door to inspect the lock. The door was slightly opened with the metal lock evidently broken. Your phone vibrated in your hand when you read the message you just received "Hey honey, me and Dad are going to stay over at Aunt Kelly's house for the night okay? Lock the doors and we will be back tomorrow afternoon!" Your eyes widen as you read the message. Your heart started to race and as you were about to call for help, you heard footsteps coming from your bedroom. You didn't waste any time and you quickly ran out of your house and sprinted towards your neighbors house. You knocked on the door loudly so they can hear you. You turned back and looked through your living room window, staring back at you were two eyes and a smile. A man all dressed in black, barely visible grinning eerily at you from you living room window . You were now pounding at the door. Seconds later your neighbors open the door confused as you explained to them what has happened. The police and your parents were called. The searched the house until they found the man. He was sitting in the corner of your basement. Laughing to himself maniacally. The police arrested him and told your parents that he was a crazed serial killer that escaped prison 2 days ago.
