I first heard about it on the News. Never thought the world would come to it, but sadly it had. There were zombies. They were first spotted in New York. So, of course, that is going to spread fast. Next thing I knew it they were roaming the town. My dad and I were locked in our apartment. I was pretty lucky to have a dad who was an Air Force 07. He had access to the jets, helicopters, and airplanes. My dad took me to Iowa where he knew there weren't going to be zombies for a while.
I made a couple of friends. There names were very similar to the ones in New York. They were Piper, Erin, Zoey, Jeff, Alizane, and AJ. I told them all that I knew about the zombies. I told them the zombies where fast and mean. If they bite you, you had 10 seconds before you turned into a zombie. I told them that if any one of us got bit that they would have to kill them. Even if they were your friends. My dad took us to a place to target practice every single day. He got us all guns for Christmas. We were probably the best shooters our age.
Six weeks passed and that was when the inevitable happened. The zombies had arrived. We had the most superior weapons. During those six weeks we managed to build a giant wall all around our house and farm.
It took seven days for all the zombies to get everybody. We were the only people alive in the state of Iowa. My dad goes out every morning on the helicopter to see were there all at and to get food for us. That day he never returned. So it was up to use kids to defend our farm. Thankfully, my dad taught me everything I would need to know in order to survive and thrive during the apocalypse. He taught me to hunt, fish, drive a jet, run equipment, and keep the team together.
That was the first time I was ever left alone without my father. It was hard for me, but I managed. I stayed up all night thinking of what would have happened to him. How could he have died? He was the best dad to ever a live. My mom left me when I was 5. She always told me to believe and live my life one little moment at a time. I always remembered that. The one thing that I remember the most was when she told me she was coming back for me. I look forward for the day she comes back.
Three days passed by and we were still holding up strong. We all decided to go out and find food. We went out to a small town called Anthon. As we were in the gas station. We were getting ready to leave we 10 zombies popped out and attacked us. We killed all but one we couldn't find it. Then all of a sudden we heard Jeff scream. Jeff had been bit by the zombie. Aj shot the zombie. We had to shot Jeff and even though I knew it was going to be very hard, it was something that had to be done. I told everyone to leave so I could shoot him. As they left I shot Jeff. On our way home everyone was sad. That was hard for us to lose Jeff since he was the one to keep us happy and laughing.
One week passed by and we were ready to go somewhere else. As we were getting into the airplane, I heard something it sounded like a helicopter. I couldn't believe it could there be someone else out there or maybe it was my dad. It was my dad! I could not believe it. I was so happy. We waited by the landing strip. After he was done landing, he got out of the helicopter with a girl. I heard Piper ask who it was, but no one knew. He walked up to me and said " This is your mother. Her name is Chrisa."
I didn't know what to think, because I have only remember very little of her so of course I wasn't going to get all emotional over someone I barely knew. Everyone behind me looked surprised. I was so scared I ran away to my room.
I hear a knock at the door. As I looked it opened. It was Piper. I knew what she was going to say. She wanted me to go talk to my mother. But I had no idea what to say. I just seen the woman in over 10 years.
"You need to go talk to her"
"But I barely know her."
" Yeah but this will be a good thing for you."
"Okay but not right now."
"What do you think she's like."
"I bet it's going to be the best thing that has ever happened to you." Piper said as we were walking out the door.
We were eating supper when Chrissa said she figured out how the zombies started. We all looked at her. Dad said,
"What is it?"
"When a scientist was trying to make a cure for cancer he actually made the Zombie disease. He injected it into one of his patience and 10 seconds later when the nurse turned around. The zombie jumped up and bit the nurse."
"Whoa" said Erin
After dinner I went in to Chrisa's room. She looked at me when I walked into her room I asked her if she wanted to talk. After we were done talking. We went out to be on patrol for the night.
As we were on patrol I noticed something weird out in the trees. I saw eyes, lots of eyes like a million. I froze in my steps. They were zombies surrounding our base. They knew we were here.
