"Meeting you was faith,
becoming your friend was a choice,
but falling in love with you I had no control over."

These are my favorite kind of moments. Just us with no hurry to go anywhere, no pressure to talk about anything specific.

"Since when have you been drinking coffee?" Ed observes and I frown at him as I put my mug down. So these kind of things he pays attention to.

"I'm not sure." I tell him. "I just do, every now and then."

"I haven't noticed." He admits. No shit. Fascinating, Ed, truly.

"Well, it's just coffee." I point out with a small smile. He just smiles at me before looking down at the paper again and I go back to admiring his sharp, beautiful features while his dark eyes scan the pages.

After a while he looks up at me. "I'm meeting Isabella again later today." He informs me and I nod. Brilliant. Just when I was enjoying our peaceful morning together.

"Alright." I reply before taking a sip of my coffee.

"Did you have plans today?" He asks me then and I shake my head.

"Not really." I tell him. "Why?"

"I just thought I'd invite her over here for a change." He says and I smile. How sweet.

"Well, don't worry. I'll be out of your hair." I reply and he raises his brows slightly.

"You really don't have to go anywhere." He says quickly. "I mean I don't mind if you're here and we can always go to her place anyway."

"No, it's fine." I assure him. "I have some errands to run anyway."

"Okay. If you don't mind." He agrees and I smile to show him it's all good.

"So, do you want to get started on the dishes or be lazy a bit longer?" I ask then since it seems we're both done with breakfast. We usually take care of chores together which is quick considering everything with Ed is efficient because he seems to have created the perfect system for everything.

He seems to think about it which makes me grin. "I'm tempted by being lazy but I do hate leaving dishes just stand there."

"How passionate hate are we talking here?" I ask him. "Will you do something you'll regret if we leave them for a bit later?"

"Most likely. Let's just do it." He replies as he stands up and I laugh, rolling my eyes at him but we get to work, piling the dishes into the sink.

"I'll wash, you dry." He says as he unbuttons his cuffs and rolls his sleeves up. I nod before doing the same while he starts washing the first plate and I grab the towel.

"Careful!" I tell him as the plate spills some water on the floor between us.

"My apologies." He says quickly and I just glance at him. "Didn't realize you were afraid of a little bit of water." He says then and I stare at him with my mouth open. Since when-

"I'm not afraid of water, you dummy. You're just soaking our floor." I reply, smacking his shoulder lightly with the towel before dropping it on the floor to dry it. As I look up he brushes some soap off his finger on my nose and I stare at him. "Are you serious?"

He's just smiling. "Why are you so serious, Ozzie?" He asks me. "You're the one with these childish games usually."

"It's not a game, Ed." I point out, wiping the soap off my face and on his. "It's just messing around."

"Which makes it childish." He replies, now wiping the soap on the back of his hand.

"Still not a game." I reply and quickly get a new towel since the last one ended up on the ground and he should be ready with the plate soon if he was able to focus on it for a second.

"We could make it into a game." He says with a smile.

"Or we could wash the dishes." I point out. Frankly, he doesn't seem like himself. He's not usually into goofing around for no reason, especially with a task at hand, but he seems to be in an endlessly good mood and I don't know why. It seems to be directed at me now but I can't figure out another reason for him to act different from before than the newest addition in his life. Her.

"Of course." He just says, focusing back to the dishes and I sigh. I'd apologize for seeming harsh but I guess keeping him at a safe distance will protect me.
