I don't think I was ever programmed to function properly.
I think my body has always had a different setting than the rest, my heart too fast for it's own good and my brain too prone to misbehave.
It's cost me a great deal over the years. Mountains of heartbreak and tears and life-changing choices. Though, somewhere along the way I found some sort of pleasure in the uncertainty: living every second on the edge of a cliff, with only your steady hand to hold me onto it.
It was a sort of high I became addicted to. And I could tell in your eyes you too could feel the electricity in our veins. That you were just as drawn to it as I was.
It's a tragic love story, the one I'm about to tell. A story that I'm ashamed of, but one I would never ever take back.
A love so passionate it would burn out as fast as it had ignited.
But do we ever let flames die?
Are we really equipped to know when to stop our hearts from tugging? Are we equipped to end it at all?
If we are, I sure as hell am wrongfully wired.
Alexander, my love, you know I'd give my life for you.
I'd do it all again if I could.
