"Ty! Teresa! Dinner!" My mother called. Every other weekend, my parents have their friends come over for dinner. And then the next weekend we go over there. Now, I'm not saying I hate the Dahlbergs, but I am saying I hate their son. Adam is the most annoying, stuck up piece of shit I've ever met. I can't stand him. Thank god we're going to college now so we only have to see each other on the weekends. My parents think we're best friends so they always make me go even though I've expressed multiple times that I hate him.

Teresa, my girlfriend, is so fucking gorgeous, by the way. She's like the perfect ray of sunshine on my life and she supports everything I do. I love her so much. She's a mixed girl and she's thick as fuck. She's like the super trendy ones that wear cropped hoodies and ripped skinny jeans and Adidas superstars and are super good at makeup. Honestly, I could go on for hours, but I'll spare you the time.

Anyways, we went downstairs after putting our clothes back on (We chill in our underwear). I guess you could say we're kinda rich but not like, trump rich. We just have a nice house. I have a good paying job and I pay for most of the stuff that I own. The only things my parents have paid for are the spiral stairs to my room and my bathroom and the utilities in my bathroom. I've paid for everything else.

"Ty, please set the table. Teresa, sit anywhere you'd like," My mother said. I hated setting the table for something I didn't even want to attend.

"Is Kenadee joining us?" I asked. Kenadee is my little sister. She's like 10 or 11 or something. I'm not home very often, I'm normally over at Teresa's or my friend Jason's.

"No she's over at her friends house tonight." She answered. I think that's bullshit. I don't understand why we have to be here if Kenadee doesn't. Like I get it, she doesn't want to be here and she thinks its boring but at least she doesn't fucking hate Adam. Whatever, I guess.

"You know, mom, I won't be able to be here every weekend when I start school, right."

"I know, Tyler. But I'd appreciate it if you would try to."

"Mom, why do I have to be here? You know I fucking hate Adam." I decided to speak up because I'm just so sick of this. Teresa being here makes it better, though. She ran her thumb over my thigh like she does. She knows it comforts me.

"Because, Ty. We like to talk about Adam's and your accomplishments and its better if you're there. Don't be difficult, okay?" Whatever mom, fine. Teresa and I took our seats and waited for mom and dad to sit, when the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it." Teresa offered. I nodded, thankful I didn't have to. I pulled out my phone to look at Reddit and my mom got all up in my face.

"Tyler. You will be respectful. You will make us look good, and you will not embarrass us. Got it?" I rolled my eyes.

"Fine, yes. I got it." My parents aren't terrible parents. They aren't abusive or anything, but they sure as hell do not love me. They just want to look good in front of their friends, possibly even better than them. The Dahlbergs strolled into the dining room and Teresa sat down next to me and kissed me. I really appreciate her.

Eventually everyone sat down to eat, finally. We had ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn casserole, hashbrown casserole, and just typical thanksgiving food even though it wasn't thanksgiving.

"So, Ty got accepted into the University of Chicago." My mother boasted. Can't go five fucking minutes without bragging, can you mom.

"Really? So did Adam!" Mrs. Dahlberg said. Of fucking course he is. Could've gone anywhere else in Illinois but of course he had to go to the same school as me. Then she asked me what my major was.

"Oh I'm majoring in special effects and minoring in cartoonism." I could feel my mother fuming. She thought I was going to school to be a doctor or a dentist. Not an artist.

"Special effects like CGI?" Mr. Dalhberg inquired.

"Yeah exactly,"

"Oh." He said. Both them and my parents are pretty backwards, so its no surprise they responded like that.

"We wanted him to be a doctor or a Dentist but he obviously had other wishes." My mom covered. I wanted to make a big scene and yell at her but I wasn't about to be homeless, so I didn't.

"I'm going to school to be a psychologist." Adam said rather smugly.

"Oh how wonderful!" My mother exclaimed. I got a scholarship for school, and that's a good thing because my parents would stop paying for school if they found out what my major was. I really wish I was just accepted and loved honestly. But at least I'm loved by Teresa and have a place to sleep every night.

"So is this your girlfriend, Ty?" Adam asked. I wish I could just fucking punch him.

"Yeah actually. This is Teresa," Teresa said hi. "She's also going to UC. She's going to be a Pediatrician." I bragged for her. I was so proud of my girl.

"Wow Ty, that's low. Dating a n****r." He mumbled under his breath.

"Adam, don't even fucking start." I said. My mom gasped at the outburst and my dad scolded me but I didn't listen.

"I'm surprised you'd even talk about a black person, much less date one, or even fuck one." He added, trying to get me fired up. I got up out of my chair and grabbed him by the collar. My mom gasped again. I pulled my fist back, ready to punch him.

"If you ever say anything like that to my girlfriend or to me ever again. You'll be fucking dead. Dead." I wanted him afraid, but I didn't want to hurt him yet. So I let him go. I threw him back onto his chair and stormed upstairs, Teresa running after me.

"Ty, what was that? You have to be more careful if you want to stay here!" She reasoned. She was telling the truth and I knew that. I'll be lucky if I'm alive after tonight.

"He was being blatantly racist in front of you! I'm not going to stand for that."

"I know baby, I know. But you need to be more careful." I nodded and kissed her, and then we took our clothes back off and laid on the bed, waiting for my parents to either yell at me til my ears give out or kick me out.
