We were silent now, heading down the long straight path which lead to the main road, the bright lights of the party getting smaller and smaller.
The distraction's car was warm compared to the chilled outside which I could almost feel if I lay my cheek on the window pane and as I looked at his stiff jaw in the dim light, I could feel a different type of heat.
He looked at me briefly as I stared at him, my mind in a warped daze and I felt a spark of something fiery when our eyes locked. We were on the main road and I wondered if he knew where he was going, I threw caution to the wind and decided not to ask.
I smoothed down my satin dress to help me feel at ease in this unfamiliar yet tranquil environment. I knew he was looking over every so often but my mind had now turned to the towering street lights which gave the town a sweet orange glow, a glow which we were chasing now, as if we were chasing the sun down the streets, racing for it's sweet temperate love.
After a short while, he stopped the car and we were outside of a hotel. He pressed a button and the car fell silent and I could feel the cold creeping in and hear his wild heart beat. He turned to me, snapping off his seatbelt.
'I thought it would be better if we went back to mine' he said softly. His hands were still grasping the wheel as if he was ready to take directions if I refused to come out of the car.
'I don't mind'. My words fell out of my mouth like a lullaby, like a waterfall crashing unto the rocks I let them hit the strange atmosphere. He got out of the car and then let me out. He held my hand until we stood outside his room.
'I can always drive you home if you want' he said blocking the door. Even in my vulnerable state I knew I hadn't taken care of my last visitor and so I had no option but to enjoy this man and his hospitality.
I shifted my weight forwards and kissed him on the cheek, my soft lips gently brushing against his shaven jaw line. I stood still again and smiled at him, spreading my lips slowly. I didn't need to say anymore.
He quickly opened up his door and let me into a pristine room. It was small, but cosy and I found myself enjoying the warmth and homeliness of it. The bed was on a raised platform on one side and on the other end of the room, a sofa and television, a kitchen and then a door leading to what I presumed to be the bathroom.
He threw his jacket on the bed and removed his shoes. 'Make yourself at home' he said in a sweet suggestive manner.
The next time I blinked he was at the front of my door. He grabbed my waist and I let myself be soaked into his chest. We kissed gently, until the pressure on my waist begged for more. We kissed passionately, for what felt like years and when he pulled away the present fell back into place as I turned my key and heard his smart shoes walk away.
My guest was still waiting for my return, underneath my bed.
