I dropped to the floor, mourning my broken relationship. I felt alone, cold and bitter. It was for the best and I knew it, he had cheated multiple times, going on holidays with his various lovers. I had given him far to many chances and I knew it. There was an abundance of evidence pointing towards it and even if overlooked it, I had just caught them. My boyfriend and my best friend, it sounded far too cliche like it came out of a book, but unfortunately, it was my reality.

3 Years Later~~

"You need to go on a date eventually" my best friend Layla exclaimed, stomping her foot in frustration, a childlike trait that I had grown fond of  "come on he's perfect for you.",

She wasn't lying he checked all of my boxes but I just didn't like him. He seemed fake, unhappy with his own words, caught up in his fantasy so much so that he didn't know who he was.

"I'm just not interested, if I find someone I like I promise I'll make an effort but why bother for someone who I don't care about" I shrugged my shoulders while she sighed.
This was a common conversation, she'd find a seemingly perfect guy and I would always say no. She didn't understand me and I didn't blame her at all. To be entirely honest I don't understand either.

I was average at best even when I tried but I was happy with myself, after a while of being a couch potato I realised I didn't have anything substantial in my life so I decided to clean my life up. I started working out more, walking my dogs, eating better. Taking care of myself in general rather than just waiting for an opportunity I networked to create one. I was proud of where I was and wasn't looking for anyone at the time and now I've decided, we'll Layla's decided I needed to find someone so we can all do things together and so I'm not third wheeling constantly.
Unfortunately I had a plan and a partner just wasn't apart of that plan, I had just gotten into the university course I needed to read my end goal after being rejected at first, I had travel plans before those adventures started and I had finally started to be noticed for my efforts in fitness training by winning my first bodybuilding competition and now moving on too a new obsession.
I was finally thriving and I didn't need anything stopping me from obtaining my euphoria.
