The Morning Love Affair

We meet every morning,

and when I don't see you

I'm disappointed.

Even Irritable.

I drag myself through the day

Like a slug.

I've memorized your scent.

I could recognize it

in a crowd of people.

Our steamy breath mingles

in the early hours

of the morning.

I savour your taste

on my lush, pink lips

long after you are gone.

Sometimes my desire for you

is irresistible.

My limbs shake,

my head aches

to feel your warmth

inside me.

You make me excited,

and anxious.

Sometimes so much so

That we only see each other

in small doses.

But, don't grow cold about it.

It's for the best.

You know what they say,

"can't have too much of a good thing,"

because it loses its appeal.

You don't want to go stale, do you?

Don't worry,

I still trust you

to get me through tomorrow.

I'll see you in the morning.

The two of us,

savoring sweet simplicity,

of a Sunday morning

just me and my Coffee.
