Amethyst frowned. "What do you mean you're 'on my side'?"

"I know what that George guy did to you a year ago and I want to help you bring him to justice," he said.

"Your definition of justice and what he actually deserves are two different things," she told him.

"You know which one he deserves," he said. "But I need your help."

"What if I don't help you?" Amethyst asked.

"I made this mistake with Betty last time," he said. "She went and told that red-headed boy she's in love with about our phone calls. I won't be making that mistake again. If you tell someone, or if you don't cooperate with me, I'll kill your brother, and then I'll come after that boy you love."

Amethyst hesitantly looked back at Jughead, who made eye contact with her. "You wouldn't," she defiantly said.

"You know I would," he told her. "Your Brother is currently in your house cooking you dinner. If you don't believe me, just ask him."

Amethyst shifted on her feet. "Yeah, I believe you." She took a shaky breath. "What do you want me to do?"

"I want to help you. To rid this town of its sinners," he said. "And James George is next on my list."

"He's out of town in California. Moved there after he finished school."

"But you can bring him back," he said. "If you persuade him to return to Riverdale, I'll deal with him in the way he deserves."

"How the hell am I going to persuade him?!" Amethyst said. "I'm pretty sure he won't listen to me."

"I'm sure he will."

"Look, you're talking to the wrong person," Amethyst told him. "Why don't you ask Chuck Clayton to do it considering they're related, or, I don't know, wait for the Christmas holidays where he will undoubtably come back for."

"I don't associate myself with sinners," the Black Hood said. "And you, Amethyst, aren't a sinner."

Amethyst let out a shaky breath. "This is unbelievable."

"You have two weeks," he said. "I'll be waiting."

The line suddenly cut and Amethyst slowly took her phone away from her ear. She ran a shaky hand through her hair and closed her eyes to take a few deep breaths. 'What am I going to do?' She thought to herself. 'If I don't persuade James, then the Black Hood's going to kill my brother. But if I do, then he'll get killed and that's all on me.'

"Hey," Jughead's voice suddenly sounded, and Amethyst opened her eyes to see him in front of her. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Amethyst didn't notice she was crying. She quickly wiped away her tears and tried her best to smile at him. "It's just that my period is due tomorrow and Demarcus just called up to say that we're not having spaghetti bolognese for dinner and I really wanted it."

Jughead chuckled lightly and kissed her forehead. "You're so adorable."

Amethyst smiled lightly as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and they began to walk back over to the booth. "Thank you. I know."
