“Only one more family now,” she said quite excited. The doorbell rang, “That must be them, Amelia honey, can you get the door?” she asked, as I got up.

I opened the door, to see a tall man, with dark brown hair and blue eyes, and a medium sized woman with chocolate brown hair and brown eyes.

“Amelia! Hello dear! You might not remember us; I’m Daniel Davis your dad’s friend?” He said.

“Ahh, meaning you must be Linda Davis?” I asked sweetly.

“Yes that’s me, hello dear,” she exclaimed patting me gently on the shoulder.

I smiled, as mum and dad came greeting them. They seemed quite happy to see each other. As Mr and Mrs Davis made their way inside I was about to close the door when I saw a boy standing at the front. He was wearing dark blue jeans with a plain black sweater, and converses.

“Hey,” I said in a quiet voice.

“Hi,” He said looking up; I noticed he had blue eyes.

“I’m Guy Davis” He offered his hand to me.

“I’m Amelia” I took his hand smiling as he smiled back.

He gave me a small box wrapped in blue paper, as I thanked him and lead him to the living room, where I was before, and sat him down. I looked around, I don’t know anyone, not even this guy named Guy. I smiled at myself.

“Why are you smiling like a weirdo?” asked one of my bratty cousins.

I quickly stopped smiling, and looked around; everyone’s attention was on me. “I don’t need a reason to smile do I?” I said smartly, while people giggled. Mum came to the rescue.

“Okay kids go play in the next room,” she said happily.

All the children screamed with joy as they ran to the next room, I looked at her as she motioned for me to go to. I sat around for a while and checked if everyone was okay and what they were doing, everything seemed fine. I walked out to see Guy sitting on the stair case looking quite bored.

“Hey are you okay?” I ask politely

“Yeah just need some air,” he said calmly.

“Mm,” he looked at me and chuckled.

“How old are you?” I ask surprised by my question.

“I’m 16,” He said.

“Whoa” I said astonished

“What?” Guy said in a confused voice.

“I just… I just thought you were my age” I explain to him

“How old are you?”

“I’m 15.”

“So you’re going to be in year 11?”

“Yep, I’m just a couple of months younger than you”

“Yeah, I’m going college next year”

Again I was surprised.

“People say I look too young for my age,” he said looking to the side.

“I fully agree with them” I answer.

“If you please,” he laughs.

We talked about random stuff and I have to admit he was quite an interesting guy. And I noticed he had style. I mean he made a black sweater look good, who does that? I turned my attention to his face. He had fare skin, and nice long chocolate brown hair, that he would flick to the side every now and again. He had icy blue eyes, but, as you went out they started to turn ocean blue, they were mesmerising. He had a strong jaw line, with a cheeky yet handsome manly smile, his lips were light pink, they looked very smooth, and oh so nice.

“Amelia, why are you looking at me like that?” Guy asked in an awkward tone.

I quickly snapped out of my daze, and asked embarrassedly, “Like what?”

“Um,” he looked away, “Like… staring.” He looked at me again.

I held my breath as I stared at his eyes, “Sorry?”

He laughed as he looked down and rolled his sleeves up, “Just like before,” he said quietly.

“What happened to your arm?” I asked as I noticed a scar on his forearm.

He looked at me stunned, “You don’t remember?”

“Remember what?” I asked confused.

“You are clumsy,” He stated smiling.

I looked at him, I have never told him that I am clumsy, despite the fact I say it a lot. Guy stood up as I followed him down the stairs.

“Making friends, are we?” said mum with a humorous tone.

“Mum!” I exclaimed embarrassed as I looked at Guy while he just smiled.

“It’s okay dear, I know Guy is the same!” said Linda quite proudly.

“Mum!” Guy called, as he shot me an apologising look.

They laughed as they walked off and started to gossip about random things.

“Sorry about that, my mum is embarrassing,” Guy said rubbing the back of his neck.

“No not at all! Mine is as well,” I quickly said.

We both sighed as we made our way to the living room, and sat next to each other.

The dessert came in after our food, it was nice chocolate cake. Everyone started to take about casual things like the house warming gifts for us. I didn’t really understand that, isn’t the fact that the came enough?

The night went by, for some reason I was too nervous to look at Guy. And was quite happy that they were leaving, they were the last to leave. I had already said my byes to Linda and Daniel, and watched them as they went in to the living room and said bye to mum and dad. They left me and Guy at the front.

“Thank you again for coming.” I said quietly.

“It’s fine, I’m glad you had fun” He answered.

We heard the parents slowly coming out way. As I look in that direction. I turn back to see Guy standing right next to me, bent down so were face to face.

“Hope you had fun,” he says as he pecked my cheek.

I looked at him stunned as the adult came to us and made their way to the door.

“Bye Amy” Guy said and left the house.

No one calls me Amy.
