I have dreamt of the shore. Who I would meet. What I would wear. What house on the shore I'd buy. Your probably wondering how I know so much about this "shore". That's because I'm a bitransia. A bitransia is a cross of mythological creatures and a human. My case is a siren. I first discovered my gift when I was 9. On my birthday that year my grandmother pulled me aside, and gave me the beautiful necklace that enriched my powers. She told me I was special. I was the youngest of three- Jamie, a blonde who is quiet a blabber mouth if I say so myself. She's 17 self absorbed and basically lives in the life of her boyfriend, Ben. Ben is wonderful, which I feel sorry he has to put up with her. Jenna is the oldest at 22. She left my side of the ocean long ago. She now resides in a fashionable kingdom with her boyfriend who I must say is perfect for her. As a Lautenslate my family is very entitled to marrying into a kingdom. We are not royalty, but we are Legistic. Legistic's are looked at highly and in our underwater world and therefor Legistic Women must marry a prince. At this age I am only 15, so I have no worries for a while. Back to my grandmas story. She told me I was special because I possessed what Jamie and Jenna didn't. I had a heart full of kindness, and an out of place mind. I never felt like I belonged. My grandma had the power but couldn't follow her dream of marrying the man she fell for on land. She settled with my grandfather, and told me to follow my dreams no matter the cost with my power. I lied and said I was going for a swim when I went to the shore. Now that you know my background, it was time for me to go for a "swim".
"Excuse me father, I need to go for a swim," I told my father.
"Why? It's only 10:00 am? What is your need to swim so early?" He boomed.
"I just have a lot on my mind. I love you."
"I couldn't deny my youngest. Be home before noon though and I mean noon!"
I hugged him and swam to the shore. I looked at the beach- girls younger, older, and my age. Loving there free life. I began to think harder and harder and harder finally my dark blue fins began fading into legs with a bikini bottom the same color as my tail. Then my shells remained the same- a darker blue shiny color. I walked unsteadily on my thin pale legs. I walked along, and didn't know where to begin my adventure. I stepped on the sand letting my toes relax in it. I then felt someone hit me from behind and fell straight down face first into the sand.
"Oh my goodness are you alright?" A tall boy with blonde hair asked me while helping me turn over on my back.
"I-" I couldn't finish I was in shock. The boy he was like nothing I'd seen before. He had a perfect smile with perfect hair along with kind eyes.
"Are you alright? I'm so sorry! I'm Colin by the way."
"I'm okay."
"Good."
There was an awkward silence.
"What's your name?"
"It's Je-" I didn't want him to know my actual name. I'd soon wash away like the shells on the shore. "It's Evelyn."
"Whoah. Evelyn. I had like a um great great grandma probably named that or something."
"You have terribly bad grammar." I covered my mouth. How could I have just said that.
"Uh thanks?" He responded confused.
"So what school do you go to?" He asked.
What school did I go to?
"I'm homeschooled. How about yourself?"
"NorthRidge. I'm guessing you now where that is."
"Yeah." I had no clue!
"So would you like to hang out or something?"
"No."
"Oh. Well I guess bye for now. It was nice meetin you though."
He began walking away. I couldn't let him leave that fast.
"Wait!" I yelled.
"Yeah?"
"I would like to get to know you."
"Awesome. What do you say about a walk?"
A walk was kind of like a swim. I guess it could be nice. I nod.
"You seem classy."
"I am not classy! My mother tells me I am the laziest child she's ever taught!"
"You act pretty perfect for a- hey how old are you anyways?"
"14."
"Hey I'm 14 too!"
"That is very cool."
"See that! That is very cool. You're not a fifteen year old girl from Clearwater, Florida in 1984! No way."
"1984?"
"For an educated girl you should know that! It's the year."
"Oh."
"Kids off the shore! Get inside! Right now! Storms brewin!" A man in all red screamed shooing us.
"Well shoot! You'd better go I have to make it home too!"
"Will I see you again?"
"Well yeah. I hope so. Where's your parents?"
"Not here."
"I can't leave you! Not out here come on!"
My dark brown hair knotted in the winds ferocious speed and sand sprayed my face. He grabbed my hand and lead me not far to a blue painted house right on the beaches edge.
"Come on!" He shouted over the wind.
He helped me climb the wood up to a wooden area where we scurried to a window.
"We need off the deck and inside. My rooms here I'll help you we just have to climb through the window! But quietly!"
He unlocked it and slid it over and pushed me in where I fell on something soft. He followed and shut the door ending the horrid wind sound.
"Shoot. We must've left the bag with your clothes in the storm."
"Oh well." I didn't have a bag so why should I care.
"Dang it you need clothes. You can't stay on my bed in that just in case my moms comes in. I'll lock the door and take clothes from Carleigh .  She hopefully won't care."
He opened the door then turned back to me coming back in.
"I don't think you can fit in my five year old sisters clothes. I'll get Carleighs." I didn't know them so I am not sure why he told me there names. Minutes later he returned with clothes.
"Here. Here's a shirt. It says Hartford Marina- where my dad works. And these bright blue shorts."
"Thank you."
I began removing my top when-
"Whoa whoa whoa! Stop! Stop! What are you doing?" He covered his eyes in panic.
"Putting clothes on."
"Not in front of me! Go over there! In that closet!"
I quickly did. I changed and came back out and Colin was looking at a round thing.
"What's that?"
"A watch? It tells you the time."
"Oh. 1:34?"
"Yeah. My folks will be here in a few hours. With my sisters. They went up to the marina but I didn't want to go. I felt like something was going to happen. And here you are!"
"I have to go."
"What?"
"Now. Goodbye Colin."
"Bye Evelyn. I'll see you soon right?"
I didn't answer. I escaped through the window. I was in deep water when I returned home.
