I woke up because of a loud, thunderous sound that covered my room. I looked at my digital clock and saw that it's two in the morning.
Slowly, I stood up and walked towards the door using my toes. The door creaked as I opened it slowly and saw nothing but darkness. I walked down the stairs and opened the dim lights, so silent that I heard a static.
My heart stopped beating when I saw my mom lying on the floor, lifeless. I'm fond of seeing these kind of sceneries but never expected him to go this far.
I went closer to my mother and stopped when I heard his soft cries at the back, he was holding a dagger, closely, below his chest—intensely looking at mother.
"What have you done, Father! You killed my mother!" I said and turned to him. Slowly, he came closer to me. I looked at him and saw his eyes filled of an abyss of emotions.
"I don't understand why you keep doing this, dad. But I know one thing, you thirst so much for death, you're so selfish." I said, never leaving my coldest stare at him.
"No! You don't know anything! I'm doing this for your safety, Acadia. You're the only thing I have left. You know how hard this is for me too but I can't do anything. I love your mother—the both of you—way beyond what you think." He said as tears started falling down his hazel eyes.
"Stay here and soon you'll understand. I should leave." He started standing up and walked towards the door.
"I love you, princess. You're stronger than anyone I know." Then he left me without turning his back, again.
Doon ko napansin na naiwan niya yung dagger. Dahan dahan ko itong kinuha galing sa sahig at napansin ko ang maliit na emblem na naka engrave rito. It was made out of glass. It's also filled with my mother's blood.
