New Student Part 3

Tumingin ako sa paligid. It was still the same since the last time I saw it. At iniwan niya parin ang phone niya, huh?

Inangat ko ang phone niya at nakitang nakabukas ito. Ibababa ko na sana pero biglang napindot ko ang home button.

Ako to ah?

Narinig kong bumukas ang pinto kaya agad kong binaba ang phone niya sa dating pwesto nito at tumayo na parang wala akong nakita.

Pero sa totoo lang, what the hell?

"Why didn't you check my message on messenger? I said we'll meet up after lunch." Sabi ni Loki.

"I don't use my messenger for like two months already." I confessed. Ever since that scandal, I avoided messenger since I don't really use it at all. I uninstalled it eventually because I need more storage. Jamie just texts me when we have something to say.

"Okay. So let's just do the project now. Did you bring the materials?" He asked.

"Yeah. Styrofoam balls, rectangular styrofoam, metal wire and acrylic paint."

"Okay. Then let's build the atom model now." Sabi niya.

"Okay. What am I supposed to do?" Tanong ko.

"Wait. I'll get newspapers and you paint the Styrofoam. You know it right? 11 protons, 12 neutrons and 11 electrons." He instructed me.

"Okay." I replied and waited for him to get the newspapers and spread it on the floor.

"Don't make a mess." He warned and sat on the floor to arrange the metal wire.

"12 neutrons... Loki anong kulay ng  neutrons?" Tanong ko.

"Blue."

Kinuha ko ang blue paint tsaka umupo sa tabi ni Loki, pero nakatalikod ako sa kanya.

Pumunta siya sakin after ng ilang at pininturahan ang rectangular styrofoam ng black. Yun ang magsisilbing base namin.

Napangiti ako ng may naisip akong kalokohan.

"What the... Lorelei!" Inis na sabi ni Loki nang nilagyan ko siya ng paint sa mukha.

"Seryoso mo masyado, smile naman diyan!" Sabi ko at tumawa.

"Loki!!" Sigaw ko nang nilagyan niya rin ako ng paint. Akmang babawian ko rin siya nang hinarang niya yung styrofoam.

"Madaya." Sabi ko nalang at nagpatuloy magpaint.

Tinulungan narin ako ni Loki na magkulay ng mga bola.

Nang matapos na kaming magpaint, nagsimula na kami sa pag a-assemble ng atomic model.

"You sew the neutrons and protons together---"

"No. Ako gagawa nung electrons. Ipapasok ko lang naman yung alambre sa styroballs diba? Ikaw na gumawa niyan, ang complicated masyado." Sabi ko at kinuha yung alambre at yung mha electrons.

"Fine. Be careful." Sabi niya.

"What am I? A three year old kid?" I scoffed but he didn't care.

"Aw..." Oh my gosh. Nagkamali ng labas yung alambre at dumaplis sa kamay ko, sa bandang ibaba ng hinlalaki. Medyo makapal kasi yung alambre kaya medyo malaki din yung sugat.

"I told you be careful!" Mahinang sigaw ni Loki tsaka tinignan ang kamay ko. Hinila niya ko sa kusina.

"Do I need to mend your wound or can you do it yourself?" He asked as he brought out the first aid kit.

"Hi-hindi ako marunong." Sabi ko kaya napatingin siya sakin.

"Are you serious?"

"What? My father was overprotective and he never let me get hurt. I never had a wound." Sabi ko. Totoo naman.
