Without you

I once was young
My bones strong
My heart warm
My innocence flourishing

My life was a garden
It bloomed and died
Life covered every inch
Greens and browns
I was so alive

The burning woods
Sparked more fires across me
Every blade of grass ripped from the roots
We're soon tearing me apart

Every clap of thunder and every storm
My heart is a forest
Full of pain and confusion
People getting lost inside

Every stab they take to escape
Crumbles the outside even more
Only forever
My words shall burn on the single paper I used to write them down

I'm just a box now
Sorted and stored
On the highest shelf
Unreachable by man

My heart is broken now
Along with my soul
Which you burned and adorned
With your stolen apologies

My name is one that isn't remembered
Not anonymously so
I'm better without the sun illuminating my skin
I'm better without you
