Mistakes

All caregivers make mistakes. Let's get that straight. When you are taking this much control over a person and taking care of so much about them, there are opportunities for mistakes. The unfortunate thing is that, caregivers are more likely to make mistakes then in regular relationships, and littles are more sensitive  to mistakes due to the amount of trust they put in you. And well...this isn't a helpful guide 😂. There's not really a protocol for this. Know your little and do your best to mend what you've done. Excuses are not good but justification for what you did may be helpful. Just explaining why you did what you did maybe can help humanize you some. Remember especially mentally ill caregivers that in this moment your little needs you not to hate yourself and pull away, but to talk to them. Try your best to not hate yourself but also allow yourself to feel. Give it time and avoid phrases like "it's not a big deal" "you're a crybaby" or anything harsh. ☺️
