2. Interrogation

"So what'd you do? Film or volunteering? What was the volunteering for? Or did someone else give you the shirt?" Gaten said, confirming my suspicions that I was being interrogated by the nerds.

I roll my eyes before answering.
"No, no one gave me the shirt. It was helping young children stay safe while making candles at a festival. I did both. Film and the volunteering. Anything else?"

Caleb nodded as if he was taking in all the information. They were all basically circling me now. All except for Wyatt, who was playing games on his phone. He was slightly different than the rest of them. It was kinda nice.

They all started throwing questions at he like they were pitchers. Even though, I doubted any of them were athletic.

"Teen Titans or Teen Titans Go?"

"Teen Titans, of course"

"Chocolate or vanilla?"

"Cookies and cream"

"That's not what I asked"

"Well, that's what I answered"

After a while of questions from almost everyone, Jaeden push through the boys until he was right in front of me. Out of all of the boys and questions he hadn't asked me anything. He seemed to dislike me the most, even as the others started to warm up to me.

He looked me in the eyes with judgement and asked one question. "Attack on Titan or Death Note?"

It was a simple question to normal people. They'd say neither and go on, not wanting to talk to these boys. I on the other had, wasn't normal; I wanted their acceptance. I could tell this was important.

"That's like asking air or water." I shrugged, saying what I truly thought.

Jaeden raised his eyebrows at me while the other boys pondered on my answer. "Care to elaborate?"

I run my hand through my hair, disturbing the straight strands that were falling in my face. Usually I'm careful when my hair is straightened but the pressure was kicking in. I sighed before speaking.

"Well they're both more popular anime than most. You could ask someone who doesn't even like anime and they'd most likely recognize them. They both have great story lines. They both have a lot of death and a main character out to kill all the bad guys. And in my personal opinion they're both awesome. I won't put one down because I think they're equal."

Jaeden looked at me for a second and started to smile. "Welcome to BETA, Y/N"

All the boys started to cheer. I noticed Wyatt smiled from his spot away from everyone else. Maybe he was paying attention after all. It made me feel more accomplished. Maybe I would fit in with the people who always stick out.

• Time skip to when the meeting is almost over •

"Okay, I think we should all add each other on Instagram" Chosen said, pulling his phone out.

"Y/N what's your Instagram?" Finn asks.

I tell them and soon almost all of us are in a group chat.

"What about Wyatt?" I ask. They all look at me.

"He's here?" Nicholas asks me.

Wyatt walks up slowly and barely raises his hand in a low wave "I'm right here." He says awkwardly. For some reason I find it a little bitty bit fucking adorable.

"Well do you want be in it?" Noah asks.

"I won't if you won't." I say it casually, but I actually really want something with him included in my life.
