Fluffy's POV
It was about midnight when I was woken up from my slumber. I had heard roaring in the distance, and judging by the low rumble that came after the roar, it signified that Rakemothers were battling for territory in the distance. I got up from my bed of ferns and carefully tiptoed over the sleeping haggle of people in order to avoid waking them up. I headed toward the maw of the cave, and looked out. Stretched out before me was a marvelously huge lake, surrounded by pains and dotted with a plethora of huge conifer trees. The moon was high in the sky, backing up my previous suggestion that it was midnight. The sky was strewn with stars and celestial dust, painting an ethereal picture on an otherwise black expanse of nothing-ness. In my stupor, i wasn't able to hear what was going on behind me. I turned my head slightly after noticing the noise. It sounded like... crunching? It couldn't be a small dinosaur walking around in our sleeping quarters, because it sounded too rhythmic. I pay closer attention to the noise, moving my ear a little, in an attempt to hear better. There was now a slight moaning noise. I instantly began to pick up what was going on.
"Why are they doing this? There is no time to be doing something like this! If they get too loud, it may attract predators- or even worse. The Megavore. Yeesh."
Many thoughts swirled about my head as I questioned all possible scenarios of both who it might be and what might happen if the others woke up. Or if we attracted much... bigger attention. Gulp. I turn to look back into the cave, and attempt to affix my one good eye on the slumbering group. After a few seconds of doing so, I was finally able to make out two shadows against the wall of the cave. Oh boy. I instantly knew who the two were. Cloud and Pickle. I knew this all along. They both had such an affinity for one another ever since we all ended up in this situation. Feeling my fern-bed beckoning me, I carefully dismount the ledge near the mouth of the cave and silently stride to it, taking care once again to not wake up the remainder of the slumbering people. After what seemed like several minutes of a stressful "game" of red-light green-light, I had made it back across the cave and into my bed. There I lay down, and closed my eyes. Yet again, sleep claimed me, And off into a surreal dreamscape i went.
End of part One.
