Chapter IV: Unleashing Wrath

Start from the beginning

"She must be used to being a slave," Envy sneered. "She's probably seen others like her killed for crying or resting. That's why she's so scared-she thinks she'll be next."

"Isn't that what their god wants anyway?" Lust chimed in. "When they're born, their worthless god decides their fate. They're designed to suffer in hell."

God? Is this really the life He planned for me?

I noticed Greed approaching me, slowly, like a predator circling its prey.

"I beg you! Don't kill me. I'll do anything you command," I said, my voice trembling, though I still tried to keep smiling despite the fear gripping me.

Greed grabbed my arm tightly. His grip was ironclad, and I couldn't move as he dragged me into a large, ominous room. The walls were lined with bones-human bones. Am I about to die? I can't die yet.

"Do you think Greed is going to experiment on him again?" -Sloth

"He's just adding to the pile of human skeletons in that room. Why won't he accept that Wrath is dead? No human can host Wrath's spirit. I'd be happier if he just fed the human to me," Gluttony said, his voice seething with hunger.

I could still hear their conversation from inside the room. Greed was going to experiment on me? These bones-are they from the humans who died from his failed experiments?

"I beg you, Lord Greed. Please don't kill me. I'll do whatever you ask," I pleaded, the terror in my voice evident.

"Give me a reason not to kill you."

A reason? What reason do I have to want to live? After everything I've endured, why don't I just choose death?

"A-a reason?"

"That's right. Give me a reason to spare your life."

Then, it hit me. The one thing I had forgotten amidst the torment, the reason I had to keep going.

"I... I want revenge. On everyone who has caused me to suffer. It can't just be me who endures this. They need to suffer too, just like I have."

I forced a smile, though my eyes burned with rage I could no longer hide.

Greed retrieved a bottle filled with a swirling black liquid. The substance inside looked like it was alive, pulsing with anger and hatred.

"I think you can handle this. Maybe," Greed mused, cupping my face in his hand. Without warning, he slashed my cheek with his sharp nails. The pain made me wince, but I kept smiling, suppressing the scream that wanted to escape.

"I beg you. Don't kill me. I'll do everything you ask."

"You want revenge, don't you? This will help you."

"That? That liquid will give me the power to get revenge?"

"If you accept it without hesitation, yes, it will."

"Fine. I'll accept it! I'll take whatever it is!"

"Oh? Good. Just as you wish." Greed opened the bottle, and the liquid leapt out, slithering into the wound on my cheek.

"Urgh! Aaaaaaaah!" I screamed as an unbearable pain shot through me. The power surged into my body, twisting and contorting it. I couldn't control my movements. It felt like my bones were being broken and reformed.

"I'll get my revenge on them!" Blood poured from my mouth as the agony overwhelmed me.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" My vision blurred, spinning as I felt myself falling into darkness. The world around me disappeared, swallowed by an endless void. I couldn't see anything, just blackness stretching forever. Yet, I could feel the ground beneath me, though no light illuminated my surroundings.
