Chapter 2 (Confession)

Mercy POV
I woke up, early as usual knowing I would have a lot of hangovers to deal with but there was something i had to do first. I had to go ask y/n if he meant it. If he really did like me. The thought filled me with worry that it was just something he said while off his face. I walked to his room which was only down the hall a little bit, luckily, and knocked on the door. A few seconds later it opened and I saw Y/n's face.
"Hey Angela, what's going on?" He asked

"Did you mean what you said last night?" I blurted out quickly but slow enough for him to hear me

"Uh ummm uhhh...." he said while just blankly staring at me

"Because if you do I have something to tell you to" I reluctantly said blushing intensely
He was just speechless, it was really cute.

"I've had a crush on you ever since you joined overwatch." He still stood there without word

"Lock me up, I'm guilty of the same thing" he said

i was blushing and i knew it. We both leaned in and then there was a big bang. The base shook, people were screaming and gunshots were going off. Y/n ran to the other side of he room and grabbed his semi-automatic, tactical shotgun and said.

"Angela, follow me." and he ran out of his room to the front entrance. On the way i looked out and saw the centre of our base. Blood was everywhere, people were dying, gunshots were going off. It was Blackwatch vs Overwatch. Or Jack vs Gabe right in the centre. Fist on fist.

"We have to stop this y/n." i mumbled

"No Angela, Gabe's going to blow-up the whole base, we have to get to the front." I don't know how he knew this but this wasn't the time to question. We ran to the entrance and he shoved me out first. I landed out in the grass just as another bang went off and the whole building collapsed on top of him before he could get out. Lucky Reinhardt was there with his shield or I would've literally flown to the other side of the boundary from the dust.

"Nooooo! Whyyy!" I screamed. Y/n was gone and we only just confessed. I was about to get up and run in when Reinhardt said

"Angela! No, stop. There's nothing left..." He trailed off. At this point i was crying so intensely i couldn't see.

"We have to look for survivors.." i said

"Angela trust me, there wont be any." Rein said

"You don't know that!" i screamed in his face. He was obviously shocked by this. I didn't even know i could do that. And with that i ran off into the rubble and the dust looking for where y/n would have been. I found his feet under a pile of stones. I started tearing the rubble off his his body and found him, eyes closed, face bloody, his left arm bent in a weird way.. he was completely mangled.

"A-ange*cough*la.."

"Don't worry y/n, i'll get help. Please just stay with me..." I said crying to the point where i was choking on my own sobs

"I'm *cough* fine.." He sat up somehow only wincing. At that point i just fell down into his lap and started crying more than i ever thought a person could. He started stroking my face gently moving the hair out of my eyes.

"W-Why did you save me?" I mumbled

"Angela, you're the better person.*cough*I kill people for a living, you*cough* save them." He said

"Someday you'll make someone*cough* the best wife they could ever ask for. You need to be alive for that."

"So do you" i sobbed.

"Why?"

"Because i want to be YOUR wife.."

"You*cough* deserve better." y/n sighed. He pulled my face closer to his and kissed me.

"Go save someone Angela." he mumbled. Then he lied down fully and shut his eyes

"No no no no NO! You're not dying on me y/n! Please...." i shook him but he was unresponsive. I ran to the medical bay and grabbed my caduceus staff. Thank god it wasn't broken. i then ran back over to y/n and engaged the healing stream praying it would work. it did.

"Why did you save me?" He sounded almost angry.

"BECAUSE I'M NOT LETTING YOU DIE!" i yelled louder than when i yelled at Rein.

"Just go save Gabe or Jack. Please." i didnt move

"GO!" he shouted at me. I nodded crying and ran off to find Jack or Gabriel.

Why did she save me? You thought. Did she mean that?
