But God, I couldn't keep you, not even in the folds of my tongue, or in the gaps of my teeth. And when you left,
You left a burning in my throat that inflamed my heart and smoked out my lungs
And now every time I see you, it's like a breath of fresh air that stirs the embers of what's left of this dying, burning heart that weeps for you inside my aching chest.
