Starting off the fourth year with the Goblet of Fire, Seamus and Y/N have started a new year. The Yule Ball gives an amazing surprise! Maybe the love will continue... maybe it won't who knows?
"Y/N! Y/N, get up Darling," I jumped as my mom woke me up, as I always did when getting woke up. I groaned.
"The suns not even up yet, Mom. What's going on?" I sat up.
"Breakfast is ready. Come down and eat, then you'll have an hour and a half to get ready," she began to leave.
"Wait! Why am I going to eat before the sun does?" I ask.
"Just get up and be quiet," she laughed, beckoning me up," he'll explain if you come downstairs!" she sang.
"Who?" she was already gone. I slowly got up and made my way down the stairs, my eyes half closed. My hand gripped the railing to the stairs. I went into the dining room and leaned in the doorway," Mom, who's going to explain why I'm up and 3:00 in the morn-" I stopped," Seamus!" I jumped into his arms and hugged him. I backed away to give him a kiss and then went back to hugging him."What are you doing here?" I hadn't seen him since a week after we left school. Of course, we'd written to each other, but it's just not the same.
"I figured I'd come visit me best Lass," he chuckled and set me down," Possibly take her to the Quidditch World Cup?" my eyes widened.
"Wait seriously?" he nodded,"Oh my god!" I jumped into his arms again and then backed away. Grabbing his face, I kissed him. My mom was giggling, so were two other people, I looked behind Seamus and saw Mr. and Mrs. Finnigan. Finally backing away, I realized how terrible I looked.
"Alright, alright, sit down," Mom laughed. Seamus and I sat down and Jacks, our house elf, gave us our food. Mom thanked him for being up so early and he went upstairs. I had french toast with, my favorite, coffee.
"I missed you," I said to Seamus as the adults spoke.
"I missed you too, Lass."
Once we had finished eating, Mom said,
"Y/N, you should go and get ready," I stood up," You guys are leaving in an hour."
"Aren't you coming with?" I asked once I reached the doorway.
"No, your siblings just think you're leaving to stay at Hannah's house for the night, you'll be staying with Seamus and his family tonight," she explained. I nodded and jogged up the stairs to change. I put on a purple long sleeve shirt and some skinny jeans. After brushing my hair and doing my usual easy makeup, I pulled on my sneakers and my sweater and made my way downstairs," Here you go," Mom handed me a backpack with clothes in it for tomorrow. I gave her a hug and Seamus' family lead us out to the street where a car was waiting. I'd never been in one before. All I'd be able to say about it was it was dark green. I didn't know anything about cars. My family loved Muggles but we don't know anything about them because we don't know how to act around them. Seamus opened a door for me and I climbed in. There were leather seats, with black belt things by the doors. I sat close to the window. Seamus climbed in by the other window.
"Everyone buckled?" Mrs. Finnigan asked. I didn't understand, so I didn't move.
"Jus a second Mum," Seamus reached across me and pulled the belt-like thing and put it into another thing that clicked on the seat. The belt was crossed over my chest, I didn't like it," We're good," he said. Mrs. Finnigan started the car and pressed two other buttons. Though the car began to rise into the air, I was too busy with the belt to notice. I pulled on it, trying to get it away.
"What is this thing?" I turned to Seamus.
"They call it a seat belt," he replied, chuckling lightly. He seemed perfectly fine with the trapping contraption. I, on the other hand, was mentally freaking out. That's when I looked out the window to notice that we were in the air. I didn't like heights very much.
"Aren't cars supposed to drive?" I asked. We were racing through the sky above the clouds.
"Most do, but this is a wizard car," Mr. Finnigan responded.
"Why are these things trapping us?" I asked, pulling at the so-called, 'seat belt.' Seamus looked at me,
"It's so, just in case we wreck, you don't go flying forward into the back of me mum's seat," I yawned and looked back out the window.
"You don't get out a lot, do you?" Mrs. Finnigan was looking at me in a mirror. I had to think about what she meant by that.
"Well, no. I- we love muggles, but we just don't really know how to act around them," I replied, "Unless it was a Muggle-born, I've never met a Muggle."
"Well, look at that, now you have!" Mr. Finnigan turned to look at me, I smiled. After a moment of comfortable silence, Seamus leaned forward and said to his father,
"Y/N doesn't have a single sibling in the same house," his dad looked astonished.
"Really? Don't you have three siblings?" I wondered how he knew that. He must have noticed because he then said, "Seamus speaks of you often." Seamus blushed.
"Yeah, I have three siblings, only two are in Hogwarts though. My sister Y/SN will be in her 3rd year and my sister Y/SN will be in her 2nd. Hailee's a Hufflepuff, I'm a Gryffindor and Keira's a Slytherin."
"Were your parents in the same house?" Mr. Finnigan asked.
"Actually no. My mom was a Ravenclaw, Dad a Gryffindor. My mom's boyfriend, my brother's dad, was a Slytherin," I had told the story about a million times and it never bothered me too.
"That is honestly amazing," he said.
"Dad didn't know Mum was a witch until they were already married!" I laughed at Seamus.
"It was quite the surprise, but I love her all the same," he lovingly kissed his wife's hand. I leaned on Seamus' shoulder. I could tell that there was still a while to go before we would get there. Seamus leaned his head atop of mine and I drifted into sleep.
