So I was cruising about Instagram (self promo; ashton_is_really_tired) and I saw a string of screenshots from PINOF 9 with the caption, "DADS." So I left the following comment;

 So I have decided, after not updating or posting anything in the past 12,000 years, that I would write a short(ish, yall should know that "short" means somewhere near 1,000 words) one shot pertaining to this comment

So I have decided, after not updating or posting anything in the past 12,000 years, that I would write a short(ish, yall should know that "short" means somewhere near 1,000 words) one shot pertaining to this comment. Having said that, please enjoy, Parent Phan.

BEGIN;

I was in the foster program from ages 2 to 12. In and out of homes and being the cause of arguments for a decade.

When I was in my last foster home, I was the mediator for this old couple. Fighting, arguing, yelling. So I would take walks. Long walks in a circle around the park. Short walks to the end of the street where a quaint bakery lied. Or maybe even hours upon hours of aimless walking that one day led me to them.

James and Rose were arguing about taxes or something and so I started out on a long, aimless walk to nowhere in particular. I walked into town, eying a games shop. Having a few quid on me, I walked in to find a small game or a comic or figurine, anything that could be a present for myself.

I went through self after self, finding nothing of interest for a young preteen boy who used to be a girl.

After about an hour, I bump into two tall (very tall) men. They were talking, chatting and holding hands. When I trip over a small display and land, face first, into the slightly taller man's hip (and thusly falling to the floor) he looks down to the floor, and sees me. On the ground. Face first.

"OHMYGOD! I'M SO SORRY! ARE YOU OKAY?" The man who's hip my nose made contact with kneels down to help me.
"Ohmygod. I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"

"I think you said that already. But yeah, I'm okay." I remark, pulling myself up on his outstretched hand.

"Right. Sorry. Wait, where are your parents?"

"To be perfectly frank, they've been 6 feet under for a decade. I'm in a foster home outside the city." As I tell them, their faces drop and the shorter man looks down to his shoes. "I'm Finn by the way."

The tallest breaks a small smile.

"Hello Finn. I'm Dan and this is my husband Phil." Phil waves and Dan smiles at me.

"You said you were in a foster home. Do you want us to take you there? It's getting dark quickly." Phil speaks up, nodding towards the clear, glass doors.

Outside them were perfect streaks of purples, reds, pinks and blues, painting the most beautiful sunset.

"Um, could you? It took me 2 hours walking to get here so maybe that's the best option. I get kin of scared sometimes when it gets dark, even though by this point I should be used to it. Basically, I know I'm rambling but even though I'm a boy, I still get scared like a little girl because stupid hormones but whatever. So please take me back. Even though they'll be arguin-"
