The boy stepped close to Annalee, his brown eyes warm and full of light. He whispered to the guard, "Are we allowed to?" and the guard nodded, his wrinkles becoming more prominent.

Annalee's POV:

I looked up at the boy, his deep eyes were welcoming. He held out his hand towards me, but his warmth barely reached my existence. I stared disdainfully at the hand, my eyebrows furrowing. Then, all of a sudden, he grabbed my hand. His fingers made their way through mine and gripped them tightly. "Well, we'll be going now," he announced to the guard. Nodding, the boy tugged me towards him.

Wait, no. What?

Our hands remaining intertwined, he opened the black Toyota's door for me. As it opened I ripped my hand away from this stranger, giving him a dirty look. "Please, hop in," he pouted, motioning towards the car. While sighing heavily, I began to climb into the vehicle only to struggle due to my lack of height. I heard a giggle, and sharply turned my head around to glare at the boy. Once again, I attempted to enter the car multiple times. Finally I felt a pair of hands grab my waist.

"Uwah!" A weird noise slipped out of my mouth, and the boy chuckled. He helped me get in the car, while another boy with faint caramel hair and lively green eyes helped me into my seat. I felt the car engine turn on, and then it began to move. Confused and overwhelmed, I broke a sweat. But then, a wave of realization engulfed me.

I'm leaving that place. I can finally begin my life. My seed has been planted and is finally receiving water.

I grinned, looking at my feet. But before it slipped out of sight, I glanced at the building which was considered my home for fifteen years.

No, that was no home.

I watched through the mirror as the tall, lifeless building faded. A smile became noticeable on my face.

It's begun, my life has finally started.
