As soon the first rays of sun hit my eyelashes I was awake. I stretched and shook the little creature who was my only friend. "Omché!" I said softly," time to wake up!" He groaned and curled more tightly into himself. I smiled softly and tucked him in. I stood and stretched, then got dressed quietly, I glanced at the clock, and packed my three outfits into a backpack and slipped into my shoes. I scooped Omché into my arms and he snuggle into me tightly. He eventually started waking up as I started walking towards the barracks. Now, if i had a dragon, I would have been there in a couple of hours, but, I had to walk, so, a day or two. When I reached the edge of the forest, Omché was in the hood of my sweatshirt and sound asleep. I rubbed my eyes and remembered the directions that the principal had told me. I guess it get to turn left. I thought, nothing like getting lost in the middle of flying dragon territory. As I wandered into the forest on the other side if the road I felt something draw me in. I walked a couple of miles farther, and came upon a glowing tree. I scratched my head. I'm really screwed now. I am not only in the middle if someone's territory, but they were advanced in magical abilities.
This just keeps, getting better and better. I let out a breath and continued on with this suicide mission. Just as I walked to the other side it was almost sundown. I decided to sleep on the edge of the border. I survey all the trees surrounding me, and look for the friendliest looking one. I spotted one hidden behind all the others and walked to it. I put my hand on her trunk and asked permission to sleep inside. Reluctantly, it opened for me, and I crawled inside. Once the hole closed, I looked around. Everything was a rich mahogany, polished beautiful. I let out an appreciative whistle and smiled. "This is beautiful!" I giggled as the tiny tree purred. I shook Omché out of my hood and laughed as he looked awestruck around him. "Preeeety, pretty, pretty." He hummed under his breath. I smiled as I got out our food. Once he saw his portion, he gobbled it down faster than ever to sleep. I shook my head as he curled into a ball once more. I finished eating and cleaned up. I put my hand to one if the walls of the tree and said "Thank you". Soon after, I fell asleep.
