I was standing in the middle of the kitchen leaning up against the freshly cleaned counters, as my mother barged through the door with a wide grin spread across her fair complected skin. "Lizzy! guess what came in the mail today?"
"what?" I said with a sarcastic tone.
"Your acceptance letter to Hollowston school for the supernatural!"
I froze, "acceptance letter...." I was so  completely overwhelmed with shock I could barley speak. I guess I should have seen it coming, mother hasn't been able to stop talking about it since I had my 16th birthday, 2 in a half weeks ago. As I finally pieced the scrambled words in my head together, I replied back to my first response with an enthusiastic " OH MY GOD!" In hopes she didn't read into my frozen reaction.
"Okay...." she inhaled a deep breath "We have to get you your uniform, we have to get you your supply's, Oh my goodness there's just so much to do!"
"Mom! one thing at a time."
I honestly just wanted to say "Mom can we please do this later, I need some time to collect my feelings about this current situation." Then I would run off to my room and throw my head in my pillow, and just lay there for 35 minutes collecting my thoughts. But I couldn't do that to her though, she was just to elated.
"I'm sorry I'm just so excited, and happy for you. Your right, one thing at a time. Okay let's go."
A sudden nervousness over came me, and giant butterfly's were twisting my stomach, I felt like I was gonna be sick. "Okay" I said, unable to hide the uncomfortable nerves.
This time she noticed "It's okay Lizzy, what are you so nervous about?" Of course she would see through me, she was mom.
"It's nothing mom, I'm fine." Worry spread through her eyes, she saw through that to.
"Lizzy" I gave up.
"Okay, okay I'll tell you, it's just I'm trying to take everything in, don't get me wrong, I am excited, it's just I'll be leaving to go live in a whole other world. Remind me again why you and dad both are pure witch and warlock, and choose to live in the mortal world?"
"Your fathers job is here, you know that." Her voice cracked at the end, she was was hiding something, "Mom, is there something your not telling me?"
"No, of course not."
I couldn't tell if she was lying, but it wouldn't make any difference right now, she wouldn't crack if I got down on my knee's and begged her to tell me. Besides even if she was hiding something, did it really have that much importance?. "Okay...." I responded, she spoke again "Lizzy" she said in a clam tone,
"I know this is a completely new world for you and it's gonna take a little time to adapt, but I have no doubt your going to absolutely love it." She spoke with such reassurance.
"I suppose your right."
"Of course I'm right, now let's go shopping." As we head out the door, I pause "Mom?" She replies "Yes!?" Her lips are pressed as she turns her head to find me, her eyebrows raise with a look of frustration,
"Where exactly are we going?" I say, she smearks, "Ashborne of course." my eyebrows raise and my eyes widen, suddenly the nots in my stomach tightens it's grip. At that moment, my mother reaches her hand out to me and says with a strict but still humble tone to hold on tight, and she shuts her eyes. Suddenly everything becomes a blur, and I feel as if I'm flying through space. I see what mom meant when she said to hold on tight, because from what I see if I slip or let go, I'll be sucked into oblivion, the unknown. Finally we come to a stop and it takes a few seconds for my eyes to readjust again. My mother glances at me and smiles "Don't worry, I was dizzy my first time to."
