she scrolled the her feed. amusing herself with such stupid posts. "let's go get the mail!" isa exclaimed with reluctance as she waltzed like a chicken towards the front door. everyone had had a fun time smothering each with red, blue, yellow and green paint. messy twister. it was delightful. one by one we all filed out of the house. i held my mug like a hipster at a urban bistro, sipping my tea like the queen of England. rays of sun beamed in and out of my face as the sun phased behind buildings while I strolled past with my crew. the crunch of leaves and acorns echoed throughout the bare neighborhood as we follow the concrete walkway. isa questioned "do you know which one is ours?" i smacked the large tin box and replied hesitantly "uh... that one." i pointed to the slot on the right with the fourteen on it. she chuckled while wiping out the key. "that's the output..." she stated. "oh" i shunned myself by glaring at the ground. isa unlocked the slot on the top left that bestowed the number two on it. "...no mail." isa exclaimed as if she expected the dull result. matt was walking in a circle and grace sat on the curb, fiddling with a plastic cup. i took a few more sips of my tea before marching back towards the house. isa quickly scampered up in front and as did everyone else. we traveled back down our old path to return the key. isa hopped into the house placing the key on a rack. joining us again we stood dumbfounded as to what we were to entertain ourselves with. "lets do a photo shoot... like regular popular teenagers do." i suggested as i grabbed my phone from my back pocket. everyone started laying up against trees and sitting in aesthetic poses. i took a couple photos and forwards them to everyone. when we finally got tired again we sat down in the grass. daylight was slowly dying and the air continued to drop in temperature. i sat with my back against the sun to warm myself. " WAIT, eryka don't move" matt abruptly exclaimed making a rectangle with his fingers. "it's perfect, i need a phone." he said looking around at everyone. i threw my phone at him. "matt? might i ask, what's perfect?" i questioned while matt pointed the camera at me from various different angles. isa and grace stood aside matt and looked at the scene unfolding before them. "this is a very aesthetic photo" matt proclaimed with a smirk on his face and an okay gesture with his hand(👌). he showed me the photo as well as handed me back my phone. we continued to sit in a circle and conversate for a while until i decided to suggest we throw our phones. no one objected to my suggestion so we became flipping our through the air and being weary of the concrete near by. with a good thrust matt plummeted my phone, that I had tossed to him,  high into the air. it flew behind me against the sunlight and landed with a 'clink'. my eyes widened with fear. "don't tell me" i mumbled under my breathe as i rushed over to the hole that was cover by metal bars. "FRICK!!" I yelled as stared  down at its limp frame. everyone rushed over soon after my yelp. "i...im so sorry..." matt apologized hesitantly placing a hand in my shoulder. "it's okay, i just need to get it out." i reassured him as well as everyone else. i fit my hand between the metal bars it was far down to reach. it was a good thing that The wasn't any water in the bottom of it. my arm was still in between the bars all the way up to my shoulder now. I still couldn't reach it. i pulled my arm out. "can we take it off" i questioned. we all grabbed and pulled at the bars but they wouldn't budge. "Dang it" i scoffed. i looked down in despair. "do you hear that tapping." grace exclaimed while gazing at the dark turned in the hole's passage. a subtle laughter broke the silence as a a hand snatched my phone from visibility.
