I promised dad I'd sit with the kids this afternoon, and this is nothing against you, but I think it's still a little early to be introducing you to them just yet, you know?

I totally understand that, no problem

if it's important though, I have a few minutes now

"hey, I won't keep you for long"

"no worries, just walking Banjo at the moment, so my signal might phase out as I get into the trees, I'll warn you beforehand"

"oh sure, no problem"

"is everything okay?"

"yeah, everything's good"

"'I could do with talking to you' sounds kinda serious"

"it's nothing bad, I promise"

"hate to break it to you, but the more things like that you say, the worst it seems like it's gonna be"

"I'll cut to the chase real quick then"

"basically, as much as I've loved being able to spend time with you out here, I did genuinely come here on business, I had some meetings to sit through and I've been waiting on a couple of calls"

"you remember what I told you when we were on set? about gifted?"

"of course I do, you seemed pretty excited about it"

"I really am"

"sure, you got the role, and you're flying out to film soon, right?"

"yeah, sooner than I thought"

"and you won't be like, put off me, even if I am leaving so early on into things?"

"were you worried that I would be?"

"I mean, a little, I'm not going to lie. it's nothing personal against you, just past experiences, you know?"

"I promise you that you have nothing to worry about, Chris, I'm proud of you and happy for you. I know how much you wanted the role, and I know you'll be so so good"

"I'm so glad"

"it's one of the perks of dating someone from the industry, I understand the things that need to be done if we want to excel in our careers. is it ideal? no. will it be easy? probably not. will we make it work? absolutely"

"I'm so glad that the paps decided to start rumours about us"

"that's... strangely romantic?"

"you must have low standards of romance"
