Cutting Strings

Chapter 6 ● Obstacle

"Don't forget council meeting today" Sooyoung reminds Tiffany as they walk side by side the day after. Sooyoung ignores Tiffany's red and swollen eyes, eventhough she is really curious. Sooyoung guess it's because of Nichkhun.

Tiffany only hums softly to let her know she acknowledge her.

They are currently on their break time and are on the way to get lunch in cafeteria. Taeyeon is meeting Jiyong so she isn't with her, and Sooyoung volunteer to go with her.

"Is the meeting only for core members or for all member?" Sooyoung asks the unusually silent girl beside her eventhough she knows the answer.

Tiffany smiles softly at her before answering, she knows what Sooyoung tried to do, "Core members"

They are finally arrive at the crowded cafeteria, the girls take a tray for each and get into the queue.

When Tiffany is picking the food from the choices in front of her, someone subtly nudge her from her left. Sooyoung, on her right, busy picking her own food.

Tiffany looks to her left and frowns as she realize it is Sehun. He is scooping red beans into his food tray and nobody will know Sehun just nudged her, even she thinks he didn't.

Tiffany goes back to picking her food, ignoring him, but then feels his hand going in to her front pocket under the long table for seconds.

She thinks he just put something in it. Tiffany continues to ignore him even until she and Sooyoung find an empty table to sit. She tries so hard not to look at where he sit. Probably at the other side of the cafeteria, where gang members mostly crowd together.

Tiffany and Sooyoung speaks like usual while they eat and for a while Tiffany forgets about Sehun, and Sehun doesn't even in her brain when Nichkhun and his friends decide to join them.

They are conversing like usual, laughing and talking between friends. Even Nichkhun still acts normally and  Tiffany misses this. For a while, Tiffany feels content.

Two hours later, Tiffany is alone in a girl's bathroom. She asked for permission to go to the toilet in the middle of the class because of two reasons:

One, she really need to pee. Two, she just remember Sehun put something inside her pocket.

After doing her toilet business Tiffany check her pocket. A paper, almost as small as the last time from Taehyung, but this one looks like it was ripped from a corner of a book. There's a mathematical equation but written on the back in a neat writing is:

Same place, after school.

That's it. She frowns to herself while dumping the paper on the bin. Is this the 80s? Where people can only communicate by letter? Does he not have a phone? Do all gang members don't have phone? What does Sehun want?

Maybe he want to return her favorite pink jacket. At least she'll get it back.

Sehun leisurely smokes his cigarette under the emergency stairs, where Tiffany and him had planned to meet before. He leans on the wall, anxiously checking the way where he think she will pop out from.

He is not relaxed at all, unlike what he looks like. His heartbeat uncontrollable that he thinks his heart will jump out of his chest. His mind thinking on what to say.

He straighten up as he hears a hurry footsteps. A second later he sees Tiffany rushing down until she stands right in front of him.

He feels a sense of deja vu.

"Gotta make it quick, I might be late to my meeting" she says in a rush, chest heaving from running. In Sehun's eyes she looks damn sexy. Her sweaty look remind him of their encounter on the shady hotel.
