Unforgiveness Is a Funny Thing

Unforgiveness Is a dagger
It pierces the hand of the holder
And you will be oblivious to the bleeding
On your palms
But you'll feel it
Each time you see that face
Or hear the voice that increases your walking pace
If you choose to listen to the conflict avoidance voice
The wounds widen woefully
All they want is to talk
And you assume they want empathy
But you feel like they want you to feel like your broken
But you wanna normalize your life
How it was with them in it
As tormenting the unforgiven
Doesn't fulfil your hurt
And grudge bearing soul
You feel like you failed
People tell you to forgive
But you just can't forget
You had trusted them
They broke that trust
And there is no way it is coming back
Their eyes, you see them as dark orbs
But you feel as if they are evil mind readers
Because in your weakest moment
You felt as weak And powerless as a slave
And I do know
Very well
That's it's your values and morals
That force your fingers
To clench on tightly to the dagger
And it doesn't allow your muscles to relax
But the day you muster the strength
To let go
The high pitched ringing sound
of the bloodied dagger hitting the floor
Will open the desired door
Where healing can be found
