Sugar, my darling,
Haven't I left you?
The weakness is flooding,
By a simple memory,
Trapped memories of you...
I told myself this was over,
Decades ago I would have cried,
Suddenly the glass I'm holding,
It brought power to what I had to hide...
A blissful memory,
The night of your confession,
Your love still holds me dearly,
Nothing can break this connection...
Not even death can tear us apart,
For that, I'm slightly worried,
Can I stay with you in my dreams?
Will it mean for me to be buried?
To finally touch your hands,
To have a second of you near me?...
These thoughts come along with this whiskey,
The burning sensation in my chest,
Your love was always the key,
Our paths never have an end,
I will stay and forget...
Forget I ever had love,
Disappear your death from my eyes,
Every kiss slipping away,
Change the truth for lies,
Another glass of whiskey to end,
What we could've had today...
