The moon shines onto the river, leaving an almost perfect reflection of it as the river rages by, with the distant sound of the rushing water heading to the ocean. Near the moon in the sky, the stars glow intensely, some in constellations. I cast my gaze away from the stars and look down at the fire as it crackles, burning the logs of wood I found deeper in the forest. It dances under the night sky, giving me just enough warmth to sleep well enough, but I can't get to sleep. Leaving the comfort of my sleeping bag, I venture out of my cozy little tent and enter the wilderness. I wander into the entrance of the thick trees, using the moon and starlight as my only light. I see little but hear much. The newly falling leaves signifying the start of Autumn crunch under my feet. Squirrels scamper up trees. Birds chirp in the trees with golden leaves. Looking behind me, I can faintly see the vivid fire burning intensely.
