Against myself,

Like it’s a game to be played,
Against oneself.
Everyday,
Is a series of invasions
Of self-hatred and loathing;
Trying to bring me to shame
Except this is only one nation,
And I’m not folding.
This is my war,
With many more
Battles to be won
And I’m far from done.
