"(Y/N), (Y/N)," Mat says, his eyes gazing into yours as his worried face crumpled into a smile to see your eyes open. "Aww, shoot, this is all my fault," he says, helping you stand up and the scratching the back of his neck and looking down, shame creeping over his features. "I was gonna tell everyone in the next video, but I met you and then you let me have your Diet Coke, and I just wanted to tell someone, and..." he said, but then looking up and grinning. "But hey, better me being here to catch you then you fainting all by yourself!"

"Yeah, I guess so," you said, feeling a smile growing on your face. "But why are you two..." you say, not able to bring yourself to say the d word.

"Yeah well, about that," Mat says, his smile disappearing as he puts his hands in his pockets and stares at the ground, rocking back and forth on his heels. "The other night, I caught her with some douche... needless to say, we aren't living together anymore..." he said, a tear falling from his eye and you ran forward to hug him.

He collapsed into you, crying as you helped wipe the tears off his face, and soon enough he wrapped his arms around you, saying, "Thanks (Y/N), I needed that."

"Any time Mat, any time," you say as he straightened up, still slightly emotional as he wiped away his tears.

"Well (Y/N), it was nice meeting you. I guess it's time to tell the fans... I'll see you around," he said, smiling at you and starting to walk away before abruptly turning around to face you again, calling out, "Also, my phone number is (phone number here)! Give me a call sometimes!" he said before continuing to another aisle.

Reciting the phone number in your head, you pulled out your phone and typed it down, adding him to your contacts before continuing shopping, grabbing everything you need before heading to check out. There was a long line of people, so you went to the self check out aisle instead, paid for your things, and left.

In about and hour or so after putting everything away and getting home, a notification dinged on your phone. It was from Youtube, telling you that MatPat had updated on all of his channels with a video titled 'Bad News' with a sad looking MatPat on the title card. You quickly tapped it open, and there was MatPat in the GTLive room, and he started talking.

"Hey guys, MatPat here, and today I won't be hitting you with another theory, sadly. I have some big news for you guys. Me and Steph..." he said, his voice breaking, "are divorcing. Now wait, before you start posting the 'WHY?!' comments or hate ones, let me explain. As most of you know, I did a collab for Random Encounters, and upon returning home... saw Steph with another guy. I won't go into details because of our younger viewers, but I guess that you can infer what happened..." he said, sighing as a tear rolled down his cheek and he made an effort to smile at the camera. "Anyways, I will be taking a hiatus for a few weeks. I hope that you understand why," he said, his face looking broken as he choked back a sob, "And I will see you guys... in the next video. Goodbye," he says, the camera screen going black.

"Oh Mat..." you said, clamping a hand over your mouth as you felt tears starting to swim in your eyes. "I think that that's enough Youtube for today," you muttered turning off your phone and throwing on a pair of shoes to head outside, slipping your phone into your pocket. You decide to head to the local park and sit down once you get there, pulling out your phone and deciding to text Mat.

Y/N: Hey Mat, I'm really sorry to see you so upset over this. Is there anything I could do to help?

As you waited for a response, a little kid with his mom went past the bench where you were sitting and the kid yelled something at his mom, pointing at you and your shirt and they started coming over. "Are you a MathPath fah?" he asked, pointing his pudgy toddler finger at you and you couldn't help but smile at his garbled words.

"Yes, I am!" you said, pitching your voice higher as you talked to him and he smiled and started giggling.

"I am tooh," he said, smiling between his missing two front teeth as you chuckled and responded.

"That's so cool!" and all he did was smile and waddle back to his mom, who was smiling brightly at you. She came over and thanked you, and you told her it was no problem. They were just walking away when you felt your phone buzz in your pocket, and you pulled it out to see that Mat had replied.

Mat: Can you come over? If not its no biggie.

Y/N: Of course I can! Should I bring anything? And not trying to be stalker-ish here, but where to you live?

Mat: I live at *address*. If you cold bring some Diet Coke, that would be fantastic.

Y/N: You already drank the one you stole from me this morning? Seriously, Mat?

Mat: Hey! I'm going through a crisis here, okay? (And maybe I did already drink that one)

Y/N: Sigh. Okay, I'll be right over.

Slipping your phone into your jeans pocket, you run over to a concession stand and grab a 12 pack of Diet Coke, throwing the money at the volunteers working there and asking for a plastic bag. You run to Mat's place, narrowly avoiding people walking on the sidewalks and come up to his front door, panting for breath. You take a few breaths to get yourself together and then ring the doorbell.
