'Kaori? Kaori wake up!' I could hear Tsubaki's slightly agitated tone attempt to wake me. Tsubaki, my best friend. I kept my eyes shut.
'Kao? Kaori please...' Watari, my boyfriend. I remembered all the love and presents he'd sent me. All the nights in hospital he stayed with me, but still; I kept my eyes shut.
'Come on guys, we should let her rest.' I sat bolt upright. Kousei stumbled back in shock, hitting the wall. Kousei. Friend A. He was enough to wake me.
Soon, Tsubaki and Watari had to go, leaving me and Kousei alone. 'So I was thinking...' He begun.
I don't understand how he was the only one to give me the motivation to get up. Something that not my best friend, nor boyfriend could even achieve, but with Kousei...
It seemed like I had no choice. I felt if I didn't wake up, he would fall back into the depressive state he was in last April when he thought I would die- wait. He fell into depression because he was worried about me?
'So what do you say?' He said, smiling slightly. Dammit. I completely zoned out. I felt my lips move and couldn't control the words leaving them. 'Sure!' I agreed, not quite knowing what I agreed to.
'Awesome!' He grinned. 'See you tomorrow then!'
And that was how it began.
