Chapter 1

New neighbors?
I was walking around my backyard listening to music and reading, when I see a boy I stop to stare. He seems like a player. Soon I go down to the bench in front of our house and start reading.
"What book?" He asks
"It's just a romance book.." I feel so weird in a good way when he talks
"Interesting!" He answers
Soon it becomes awkward but oh well.
"Well I came here to talk I can careless about books" He says, smirking.
I have so many questions in my head like why?
"Oh.." I reply.
"So what's your name?" He asks
"Ella, how about you?"
"Alex" he says smirking.
"Nice to meet you" I reply
"You too, so neighbors huh?"
"Yep"
Soon a car approaches. It's a girl who seems to be staring at Alex. She gets out and kisses him. I put music back on because that was gross. They start talking like I don't exist. Soon my sister comes, Bella, you can call her evil.
"What the fuck Ella?" Bella says
"What???" I question
"Where are my shoes, I bet you stole them!"
"Why would I?" Ella replies
"Just give it back!"
I rush back inside and go to my room and hear Bella screaming at me. I don't understand when I even stole anything from her. Dad is always taking her side and I just feel alone. Soon dad comes to my room.
"Ella what the fuck, give her shoes back" Dad angrily replies.
"I don't have them I promise." I say defending myself
"You're such a liar" he says as he rushes out of my room.
I head to sleep because I give up. Life is crap. I wake up the next morning and hear Alex and his so called girlfriend arguing. I take a shower, eat breakfast, and head to the store. I buy so many snacks because food is life. When I walk in the aisle for ice cream, I notice Alex. He notices me.
"Well hello" Alex says
"Ugh hi" I reply
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing"
I am so irritated because I hate my family, summer is starting to annoy me, and they ran out of my favorite ice cream. Can this day get worse?
Alex gives me hug and I realize how much I needed a hug. He tells me some random shit to cheer me up. I actually smile. Soon I head home and he tells me to head to his house. I ask him why. He grabs my hand and takes me to his house. I find the ice cream they ran out of. He really knows how to read minds. Soon I finish eating some and head home, which is like 9 steps away.
Week passes by, nothing productive done yet. Alex somehow gets my phone number and texts me.
"Hi" he texts
"Who are you?"
"I'm your favorite boy"
"Oh my god is it Tom Hanks?"
"Stfu it's me Alex"
"Awe man go away if you're not Tom Hanks, bye"
"Wait I am Tom Hanks"
"Shut up, how'd you get my number"
"Secrets can't be revealed yet"
I look out my window as he looks at me. I didn't notice him standing there wtf? Stalker. Jerk. Ugh...
"Come outside"
I go outside and he smiles at me.
"Something on my face?"
"Yes" he replies
I cover my face.
"Is it gone?"
"No."
"I'm going to assume yes shut up"
He leans down to kiss my forehead. I shove him away.
"Tf?"
"Okay fine bye" he tells me
"Bye"
"No wait" he grabs my wrist.
"Wanna go get food?" He says
"Yes!"
He picks me up and I scream and yell. He puts me in his car.
"Taco bell!" He says
"I can walk you know.."
"Shhh"
Soon we arrive and order. He snatches all my food away. I had to give him puppy eyes to get it back. He's such an asshole. Soon a girl walks to him and slaps him. I burst out laughing.
"Don't ever kiss me again" she says as she walks away
"Wasn't planning on it" he says after she leaves
By the time I'm done laughing, we head home.
I see his parents talking to mine.
"Yes come in" my dad tells them
"Thank you I'm glad we can bond"
As we approach them, Bella gives me a death glare. Isn't it amazing that his family and mine are having dinner? Just what I needed...
When I sit on the couch, Bella asks Alex to sit with her. He refuses and sits by me, surprisingly. He wraps his arm around me and turns the TV on. Bella gets angry and leaves to help in the kitchen with mom and dad. Alex looks at me while I watch tv.
Hour passes by and dinner is ready. His parents are amazing and everything went well. Soon, my dad starts talking shit about me to make Alex hate me.
"Never getting good grades, she's hardly cleaning, and hardly ever even nice." Dad says
Afew tears slip and I go to my room while he continues. When I leave, I notice Alex grabbing my hand.
"What?" I ask angrily
"Listen it's okay" he says and hugs me
"No its not did you see that? Compare your parents and mine."
He hugs me again and I go to my room while he follows me. I lay down and he sits and holds my hand.
"I wish I can change this." He says
"Sadly you can't, nor can I ever be happy." I reply while sobbing
Soon hours pass and I fall asleep. I wake up and notice a note beside my lamp: Text me when you wake up and don't forget to smile.
At this point I didn't wanna text anyone or talk to anyone so I stayed in my room sobbing. I take a shower and notice Alex standing by my bed reading my diary.
"Stop!" I scream
"So cute" he smiles
I grab it and set it down and he is laughing. I cover my face in embarrassment.
"What are you doing here?" I ask
"Just to check up on if you're okay or not since yesterday..." he replies
"I'm fine" I say simply
He hugs me and whispers: no you're not.
