♕ abbey ♕

"Abbey! Somebody's at the door for you." My mother called. I'm guessing it's Calum, because he is the only person who would be visiting me. I don't really know anybody else who would. I had just getting finished for our 'coffee' I guess you could call it. Or maybe even a get together? I don't know, but I don't really care because I'm extremely nervous about this. I haven't interacted with people my own age for a while, and I'm awfully worried that Calum won't really like me and will find me weird. Or, that he'll get to know me and toss me to the side. I know that I'm meant to be being positive, but it's all kind of hard when the people you have surrounded yourself with all your life disown you for a stupid decision; a stupid choice because of peer pressure. But, I don't think I would make the same decision twice; or let that happen to me again.

I was dressed in a simple outfit; a white knit sweater, light blue jeans, white knee high socks, a pair of tan knee high boots and a gold necklace with a love heart on the end. My brown hair was braided down in a simple French braid tied with one of the clear elastics; I find they work better than the larger ones and, they look cleaner.

As I made my way down the stairs, I saw Calum standing in my kitchen with my mother. I hadn’t exactly told her that I was going out with Calum, but I know that she won’t care; she will just smile and act ‘cool’ when really she would be bursting with excitement that her baby girl is back in the world again, socialising with people who aren’t her mother or random strangers on Omegle. Calum looked extremely handsome. His black hair was hidden under a read beanie, a black jumper with a white shirt peaking out at the bottom, hanging over the fly of his black jeans.

“Hey. Mum, this is Calum. Calum, this is my mother.” He smiles politely at her, extending his hand for her to shake. My mother being the snob she is took it, and barely touched it, but still managed to shake it. Even when there was nobody to impress; she had to impress somebody, and honestly; that annoyed the hell out of me. It was me, and I know I hardly know Calum, but he's a teenage boy, he won't care that she shook his hand, and neither would I.

"I’ll be home soon.” I tell my mother as Calum and I make our way to his Ford hatchback. It’s old; that is something I am sure of, but it’s still cute. Its burgundy coloured and the seats are fraying, but it’s the type of car that would have memories made in it. I like that, I think it's cute, plus, it’s relatively clean for a teenager’s car. That surprised me. My old friend’s cars were all extremely disgusting; they had beer on the floor and McDonald’s rubbish littered between the seats and cup holders. Calum’s car wasn’t like that, and I thought that was cool.

“I like your car,” I tell him as he slides the key into the ignition.  He looks over at me, and smiles this adorable smile. It was just adorable and hard not to like. “I mean, I used to know guys whose cars were just a mess, but yours isn’t and I think that it’s nice.” I was rambling; I know it and Calum did as well.

“I also like your tattoo, I want a tattoo but-“

“Fuck!” The car had stopped and we were in the middle of nowhere.
