I couldn't help it. I sat there like the idiot I am and openly started at him with my mouth wide open in amazement. Those eyes had to be contacts. They couldn't possible be so rich a deep in color much less the color that they were: Aquamarine. Aquamarine isn't a color you see in daily life. You see it if you go to the beaches of Puerto Rico, of the color of your favorite shirt. But in someone's eyes? Nope. They couldn't possible be.

I strained my neck to check  and see if they were contacts when My phone started vibrating in my pocket. I snapped out of the trance I was in and checked my phone. It was a message from Hailey.

"Shut your mouth and quit staring. You'll scare the boy Mi. -__-"

I looked over at Hails and she gave me one of her signature 'You-are-an-idiot' looks. She nodded in his direction and I refocused my gaze on him.

"Well It's fine Mr..." Mr. Ross trailed off still not knowing the new students' name.

"Xavier. My name is Xavier Carterson." Aquamarine eyes spoke.

"Well class it looks like there's no need for an introduction for our new student. I hope you will all welcome him to your school and make him feel at home here." Mr. Ross said. "Take a seat next to..." He gestured at me then to the empty seat next to me.

"M-Mia." I stuttered when the teacher gestured for my name. "Mia Burkes" I said a little more calm.

"Well then Mia. I hope that maybe you can give Xavier a little tour of the school as the day progresses and maybe exchange numbers for homework or any questions about his first and final year here at Jacobson High." H said simply and went back to calling attendance.

"Hey," Xavier held out his hand. Aw. What a cute gesture. He flashed a cute white grin at me. I smiled back with a corny smile and shook his hand. "So i guess you're stuck with me. Are you gonna gimme your number to...y'know talk about school?" He smiled reaching for his phone in his back pocket and handing it to me. I took in in my hands and tried to turn the screen on. When the screen came to life I felt my heart twist slightly. His wallpaper was a picture of him with some girl. What was up with me?

I must have made it obvious since he said "Oh that. She's my sister. She's in college now. Se came to visit over the summer and we're really close. But since we moved here we don't see each other much more." He looked back up from the screen to me, his eyes even more mesmerizing up close.

"Aw." I smiled. "I think it's sweet when  siblings are so close."

His smiled faltered a little as if something I said had just killed his mood a bit. "Yeah. I guess." He shifted in his seat and cracked his knuckles from fidgeting.

After I input my number into his he took his phone back and smiled at it. He sent a quick text to someone, who i found out to be me as soon as my phone started to vibrate.

I read it in my head, "Nice to meet you Mia. =) "

"Nice to meet you too Xavier =3 " I sent back regretting the weird little emoticon

He smiled and was about to say something but something, actually someone who i just consider a something, interrupted us. It was Becky.

"Hi there..."She purred at Xavier.

He turned in his seat to face her but all he got was a view down her shirt. He quickly looked up at her face, not something many guys do around her. She noticed instantly so she leaned further down towards him and introduced herself.

"I'm Becky Cunningham." She enunciated her name and traced a finger along his arm.

I rolled my eyes and she sneered at me. She made a point to get in front of me and block me off from Xavier.
