This book is about a 17 year old girl called Anna.
She may have long silky hair, perfect tan, bright blue eyes and a lot of friends but she also has a hard life at home...
With her mom dead since she was 10 and a little brother at the age of 5 to look after isn't easy.
Her dad comes home every night pissed off his brackets (drunk)
He shouts at her, hits her..
She wakes up every morning waiting to start the day again and deal with the pain.
Gets out of bed every morning and looks up at her mirror as her lip drips with blood.
Black around her eyes. Bruises on her face and around her body.
She breaths through the pain and tries to cover it up.
She's scared that if she doesn't and people find out what her life's like at home, they'll stop liking her. She won't be popular anymore. She'll have no friends.
Everyday as she walks down the school halls she can feel eyes on her. It's not easy to cover up your pain. People notice she has bruises. They talk about her.
But she acts like it's nothing. Goes on with life and keeps the tears back.
Not even Anna's closest friend, Winter knows. She'll have to tell the truth to someone sometime.
But how will they react?
What will they do?
