Motto: A smile is given from oneself freely;
it gives birth to joy and love; to entertain.
Alas sometimes, they're not given sweetly,
the flash of ones teeth, can drive another insane.
-Anthony Langevin

Not so- so what- what if I am? Scared and disturbed- and rightfully so! Is that reason, then, to say that my sanity is skewed? I say I have never been better, and my senses are sharp- especially my sight! I see all things in Heaven and in the earth. I see the passages in Hell, which go on and on. How, then, can you think me mad? Come forth! And see- as I do- how calm and tranquil the river of my mind flows. Just listen to the story I lived- and you will see of what sound judgment my mind is built upon.
No one- not even I, can say how this feeling came about; or how the thought entered my mind- but once conserved it closed all other doors to any other thoughts. Soon any other notion was deemed unimportant.
Of lack of love, there was none- she was my day and night- the air my lungs held so close to my heart. She never took up ill with me- never once was her touch anything but sweet. What she gave me was from her hearts most inner locked door. If only it were not for her teeth- for it was her teeth witch hunted me. They were white as pearls, but her canines were not of normal size- they were as if fangs! Whenever she smiled at me her fangs would flash, thus hunting me all the more! For she smiled at me most often (I know not why). And so- to a point- that is how I came about the notion to claim the air witch her lungs kept so close to her heart. Thus ridding me of her smile forever!
We come to the point. You think in your thoughts- of me to be quite mad. Harken! Hear this- a madman knows nothing of anything, neither of madness nor life itself. If only you were there, you would have seen the greatness in the logic of my mind! I went about it with much sanity and forethought. So much so that I stayed up at night thinking of nothing but my one thought that wandered the halls of my mind.
There was no one sweeter to her than I in the weeks leading up to her death. We shared such kisses that I could feel her fangs agents my tongue- making me all the more sure of my only thought. Every night- at two-o'clock to be precise- I would go to her house to watch her sleep. I would climb the tree in her backyard that lead up to her window- and I would watch her sleep. She would do things in the room behind the locked door, that on one else knew about- but I knew- for I watched her. In this manner I came to know all her secrets- which she kept locked behind her smile- but I could taste them when we kissed.
We spent all our time with each other- and she smiled at me all the more. I knew I had to act soon- for I am not a madman and I intend to stay that way. Therefore her smile had to fade- for as much for her sake as my own! One must suffer greatly knowing ones smile holds fangs.
Do you know the feeling you get when someone is watching you? Well that is what it felt like- her smile- her teeth all but hunting me- even in the places I thought myself safe. Oddly enough she told me that, she too, felt like she was being watched. She was afraid for her parents were going off to the country and would be back no sooner than a fortnight. She was terrified about being alone- that every night she felt an evil presence watching her as she slept. I told her not to worry- that I would be there for her; and that soon it would all be over. I said she would no longer have to fret about the presences that watched her in the night.
I continued to go to her tree every night- at two-o'clock precisely- until the time came for her parents to leave for the country. That night I went to her house- I was extra quiet as the cold air blew through the evergreen tree. I stayed for an hour like that-watching. She tossed and turned in her sleep. I drew closer- to her windowsill, then open her window and slipped in. She was speaking in her sleep- than tears ran down her cheeks and her eyes flew open as she let out a scream. I held a finger to my lips and she drew in a sharp breath, let out a sob- then smiled. She came to me and pressed her head into my chest- then she led me back to her bed and laid me down. She kissed me and I felt her fangs- my mind came back to my one thought. I grabbed her waist and rolled her onto her back. For many nights she must have lied awake saying to herself: It is nothing; only the night wind. Don't let your thoughts be stolen by the evil things of the night. And now, she had me to comfort her- I would take away her fears. I would lie to rest her burden of having grown fangs in her otherwise perfect person.
I stroked her hair and brought my hand down upon the pillow that lie behind her head. I took it out from under her delicate frame and brought it around to cover her face. She let out a scream before I could apply much weight- but soon she was quiet. She lied by my side still as stone. I placed my hand upon her breast and kept it there for quite some time- never a beat did her dead heart make. I pressed my mouth to hers- alas I could still feel her fangs. Surely she could not rest in peace until she was rid of what burdened her so. Now being the kind person I am- I took the tools from the repair box and took out her fangs. Then I went on to finding her a place to rest. There was a loose bored under her bathroom sink- alas it was a small nook (no bigger than a large cranny). So I dismembered her- cutting off her left leg then her right leg- fallowed by her left arm than her right arm. Lastly I cut the head form the shoulders- soaking her hair all the while (now darker than before after being stained by her blood). Once she was comfortable in her new bed- I put the bored back. Not a trace was there of what happened- not a lock of hair or drop of blood- for a tub had caught all- ha! Ha!
When my labors came to an end it was four-o'clock; darker still than when I had first come- for the season of winter had come to near Christmas. I was gazing at the fangs I had pulled when the doorbell rang. Strange- I thought- for who would come at such a late hour?
After answering the door to the police they informed me that someone had called in reporting having heard a cry from the house next door. And they (the officers) had been deemed to search the house. I smiled- for nothing of what had come to pass would be known- and they (the officers) would find nothing. I told them the owners of the house were in the country- and that I was merely house-sitting. I then apologized for the scream- which I informed them was my own after a particularly awful night's sleep. I lead them- at length- through the house- I knew the way for I had been there many times before. I told them to search to their heart content- for I had nothing to hide- so I said.
We came to her bedroom- I sat on her bed- and they on the sofa- not ten feet from the bathroom sink.
The officers were content- and pleased with my air of calm and ease. They began to chat about various things. As I sat on her bed (neat as ever mind you) I began to get the feeling I was being watched. The fangs in my pocket began to weigh more than they once had- heavier than two sharpened pearls plucked from a giant oyster. My skin grew pale- I gasped for air- yet held up my part of speech with those who would pick up the slightest change in me. I was sure. Once again- stronger than ever- I got the sense I was being watched. Surely the officers felt it too? So great was the sensation that I could feel it burning into my skin. Sweat trickled down my brow- had they seen? They were playing it out- they suspected something- they felt it too- they knew!
My head was splitting with pain- why would they not be gone? I paced the floor- to and fro- with short jerking movements. Fury built up in my chest as the feeling increased. Oh God! What could I do? The fangs started to burn a hole in my coat pocket- soon they would fall through to the floor! Still the feeling grew, and kept growing- growing- growing! And still the men talked on! I could take their smiles no longer- I felt as though I must scream or die! And now- again! The feeling grew! And grew! And grew!
"Villains!" I shrieked, "torturer me no longer! I admit to the deed! Tear away the backing of the sink! Here! Here! Take the fangs of the one who lies in pieces- destroy them! So that she may rest in peace!" I threw the fangs down near the dismembered body. "Take them away- the teeth of her hunting smile!"
