Don't you hate it when you have to go outside? Interaction with other people, the heat of the sun, the norms you have to abide by, it's agonizing torture for the likes of me. Why go outside when you can stay indoors, read a good book, play video games, or perhaps surf the web while you munch on your favorite snack in the cold air conditioned room. Like, the satisfaction of getting an item after grinding for it for 6 hours in a video game is way better than the feeling of buying a dress you like but that's exactly what I was doing until my Mom dragged me out of the room and kicked me off the house
You see, despite me being the beautiful, straight A student everyone knew, I'm actually a shut-in gamer that would rather die than go out on a weekend. I didn't expect myself to get those nearly perfect grades in the first place, I never actually took school a hundred percent seriously, what mattered is that I passed, I stayed out of trouble and me being able to enjoy my alone time with my computer and to be finally reach lvl 100 at this game I've been grinding on for months.
As of now, I'm currently holed up at this nearby gaming cafe, just 5 blocks north from my house, next to me is my team's healer Johanna, I met her at Twitchcon last year and we became friends, she loved fighting games such as Tekken and Street Fighter but I'm more of a strategy kind of gamer like I'd play games like Civ or Plague Inc Evolved. She was also the one that got me into MMORPG games. I used to stream part time too like her but eventually my parents shut that down, for now at least.I looked on what loot I got from a recent dungeon I cleared, I was nearing the required materials for the final piece of this set armor I've been wanting for quite a while. It had good stats on it but what I loved about it was the bonus stats you get if you wore the whole set, least to say it was a pretty broken buff.
I was about to ready to call it a day, it's been 4 hours already and my eyes are about to pop out of its sockets if I continued any further. My eyes were burning and I felt dehydrated from drinking nothing but mountain dew for the past 4 hours.
I grabbed my shoulder bag and logged off my account. The cafe had an account system, where the more amount of hours you spend the more freebies you can get, I was about to reach enough points to redeem a 5 hour extension if I needed to. I was about to leave when Johanna nudged my left shoulder. "Leaving already Anna?" Johanna stretched her arms as she looked at me. "I thought we were doing that world event later?" The world boss only spawns once a week during a world event and different guilds had to fight it out on who has the right to challenge the world boss. "I'll get on my computer later. I'll just say to my mom I have chemistry homework or something like that." Johanna looked at me skeptically "I thought you always finish your homework in advanced so you have more time to focus on other stuff?". I simply smirked at her. "I would always leave one for later, just in case I needed an excuse." Johanna simply nodded and went back to her grinding. She was interested in doing side quests for the meantime to get some experience so that she can clear higher level dungeons.
I waved goodbye to her as I left the cafe and started walking back home. It was already 5 in the afternoon so the sun didn't burn my skin into a crisp. I stopped by the nearby bakery and bought half a cake roll to bring home for my mom. She sucks for limiting my time on the computer and all that, but she's still my mom regardless also because my little sister has a sweet tooth for cakes and sweets. I unlocked the door to the house, made my to the kitchen and placed the cake in the fridge for later. My mom would be home from work an hour later and my little sister's probably in her room.
I hastily went upstairs and into my room, I turned on the A.C and my computer as I plopped myself into my gaming chair. I logged on to Steam and opened the game from there, on my friends tab I saw Johanna still online, so I decided to message her.
AnnaPlayz: Still playing?
I brewed up some potions in the meantime and traded in some of my excess platinum for some gold I needed for the ingredients. My alchemy skill tree wasn't really the best and I'm planning on later getting some side quests done just to level it up. Johanna responded to me as I was trading with another player.
