Chpt. 42

"What? No." I said and scoffed. "What are you even talking about?"

"Don't lie to me. I heard you mumbling something about it but I couldn't understand it clearly." She placed her index finger on her chin and looked thoughtful to the sky. "May I guess?" She asked looking back at me.

My mouth feeling dry I simply nodded.

"Okay." She snatched her fingers. "You love her but can't tell her?"

As I heard her words my heart stopped.

"Did I guess right? I think so because you aren't responding." She said and laughed. I stare at her with wide eyes and gulped.

"Please don't tell her." I said looking down.

"I won't. I had a feeling when we first met. It's always the same with best friends. One of them falls in love and the other doesn't feel the same so the friendship ends." She placed a hand on my shoulder rubbing it soothingly.

"It can't be helped I guess." I said feeling something inside me break.

"She told me a lot about you. You're very important to her but..." She leaned even closer to me staring into my eyes. "Are you sure it's real love or are you perhaps just confused?"

"W-What do you mean?" I stuttered.

She leaned back again and crossed her arms.

"I think you know what I mean."

Confused I looked at her with a blank face.

"I don't live far from here. Do you want to come over and have a tea?" She said still not loosing that smile.

Even though I was heartbroken knowing that SunHi would never feel the same towards me I somehow felt a little warm inside. JaeMin somehow managed to comfort me in a scary way.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked carefully not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. Maybe she's just doing this because it was really a coincidence and I'm just paranoid and exaggerating.

"What? You don't want to take that offer?" She asked surprised.

"That's not it. I mean... why-"

"Because I like you." She spat out with a big grin.

I tried to talk but stuttered nonsense till I was able to form a word.

"What?" I said breathless.

"You may not know me but I know a lot about you because SunHi doesn't stop talking about you."

"Oh..." I said and looked down. A lump formed in my throat and I wasn't able to say anything.

'No one ever confessed her love to me. I was always living in the friends zone my whole life. But why all of a sudden? She doesn't know me. Why does she like me?'

"It's okay. Maybe we still are strangers but that won't stop me." She said like she just read my mind and stood up. "Please don't look at any other woman that me." She blushed lightly and bowed. I looked up at her speechless with an open mouth but then ran away.

Next day I woke up with a bad headache. I opened my eyes and saw that the window was open. Great. Now I'm not only heartbroken but I've got a cold too.

I sneezed and stood up to close the window.

Suddenly I heard the doorbell so I quickly rushed to open the door.

The sun was shining so bright that I closed my eyes at first while opening the door.

"Good Morning." A bright smile greeted me.

'What the-'

"JaeMin? What are you doing here?" I looked at her confused.

'When did she learn my address?!'

"Oh... I was near your place so I thought why not spend you a little visit." She said still smiling widely.

"But h-" before I could say anything she walked pass me into my family's house. If my mom sees her she will-

"Oh god morning." My mom stood at the stairs and looked at JaeMin the same way I did earlier and then at me with question marks all over her face.

Took me a while to update. Thank you for waiting patiently but I had so much to do this week so I didn't had time for writing. Also next month I've got an exam but I'll try to update as much as I can
