I sighed and rested my head on the wall behind my chair. The bright, white lights of the hospital waiting room were making my headache worse by the minute. I'd been waiting for about an hour and the pain killers were starting to wear off. My ankle throbbed through the thick, white cast. I closed my eyes trying to block out the lights and sounds around me. As I sat there, the details of the accident came flooding back to me. Riding my motorcycle through an intersection, the big SUV barrelling towards me, my bike being pushed off the road and then just darkness. I remembered waking up in the ambulance, my head and ankle throbbing with pain, but I didn't remember much else. The doctor said I was lucky to escape the accident with only a concussion and a fractured ankle. After seeing my bashed up helmet, I agreed with him.

"Elizabeth Stafford?" I looked up at the nurse in bright pink scrubs. "Yes?" I answered. "Your ride is here waiting by the front desk," she said in a cheery voice that made me want to hit somebody. I stood up, carefully so as not to put any strain on my ankle. The nurse helped me into a wheelchair and set my crutches across my lap. She wheeled me out towards the front desk. My friend, Cameron, rushed towards me. "I'm so sorry I'm late! I would've gotten here sooner but traffic was a bear!" She exclaimed, looking guilty. I waved her apology away. "It's okay. Just please, please, please get me out of here." Cameron laughed. "Alright, alright! Let's go."

She followed as the nurse pushed me out to the car. With help from Cam and the nurse I was able to climb into the car without any further injuries. It wasn't long and we were pulling up in front of Cameron's house. "Are you sure your brothers don't mind that I'm staying here with y'all?" I asked, unsurely. "They're totally okay with it, El. Stop worrying," she answered. "We talked about it and they're okay with you staying here, indefinitely. And before you ask, there is plenty of room for all of us. Having famous brothers has its perks." Cameron smirked. I grinned. Ethan and Grayson Dolan were famous viners and youtubers. They went on tours and had fans all over the world. I had never met them in person but I always watched their videos. They're really hilarious and cute, too.

I grabbed my crutches and we got out of the car. Cameron got my small suitcase out of the back seat. I had sent the rest of my things to her house earlier that week. We walked slowly up the driveway and she unlocked the door. She motioned for me to go ahead and I stepped inside. The cool air conditioning was a nice change from the humid, California air. I looked around. The entryway was nice and spacious and their living room furniture looked so comfortable that it made me tired just looking at it. The house was unusually quiet but I still looked around expecting to see someone. "Are Ethan and Grayson not here?" I asked, puzzled. Cam shook her head. "I'm pretty sure they went to pick up food. You like Chinese right?" I nodded. I was slightly disappointed that I had to wait to meet them but I was also relieved that I would have time to settle in first. Cameron grabbed my suitcase and lead me up a flight of stairs. She pointed to the first door. "This is Ethan's room and the next one is Grayson's." She came to a third door and opened it. "This one is yours! And across the hall is the 'office' type room and the gym room and my room, too." I nodded. "Okay, cool." I stepped inside of what would be my room for possibly a long time. It was big and bright. It had two floor to ceiling windows and a big bed in between them. A chest of drawers and a desk graced one wall while the other wall had two doors which Cam explained were the closet and bathroom. My other things had already been placed in the room and Cameron set my suitcase against the wall. I turned to her. "Thanks so much, Cam. After I couldn't find an apartment close to my manager's office and since I can't drive with this stupid cast on I wasn't sure where to go. You're really a life saver." I smiled. She grinned back. "Yeah, we both know how grouchy Ms. Nitchue is when you're late." She giggled.

Ms. Margret Nitchue is my book manager. I write the books and basically she gets them edited and published. She's a really great manager and because of her I already have a six books published and one more on the way. No one really knows about my books though because I use a pen name. I go by Kristen Bryant so people don't recognise me as a famous author.

I smiled back at Cameron. After a few minutes of talking she left me to get unpacked. I decided to leave my clothes in the suitcase still and unpacked my box of favourite movies and books. I placed them one by one on the little book shelf above my desk. Books were an important part of my life so it felt right to unpack them first. Next I started on my clothes and shoes. The closet was spacious and soon all my items were neatly in their places. When my stomach started rumbling I walked carefully and slowly downstairs to find Cameron. Going down the stairs with crutches was much harder than going up had been. "Cam?" I called when I didn't see her. She popped her head out of a doorway. "In here!" I followed her into what turned out to be the kitchen. She was leaning against the counter, scrolling through her phone. She looked up. "I wonder why my brothers aren't here." I shrugged. I hoped they would come soon. I was anxious to meet them and plus I was starving. As if planned, I heard a car door and then the front door. We looked at each other and giggled. Cameron walked out to the entryway. I could hear two deep male voices and I was suddenly nervous to go out and meet them. Before I had anymore time to contemplate what they'd think of me, they all rushed into the kitchen. They set bags of delicious smelling food on the counter. When they realised I was there staring at them they turned and smiled. "OH! Hey! Elizabeth, right?" The longer haired one who I recognised to be Ethan said. I nodded and raised my hand in an awkward wave. "Hey." I smiled to try to seem less awkward. They grinned wider. The second one waved back. "Hey, I'm Grayson and this here," he jerked a thumb at his brother, "is my annoying twin brother, Ethan." I giggled when Ethan swung an arm around Grayson's neck and Dutch rubbed his hair. "Don't let him fool you; he loves me." I smiled back at Ethan. Both of their smiles were bright and contagious. I didn't even feel awkward around them anymore. "So," I walked towards the counter as best as I could with my clumsy crutches. "I hear you brought food?" Ethan shook his head. "All you care about is food?" I almost couldn't tell if he was really upset until I saw the smile creep onto his face. Grayson threw back his head and laughed. "A girl after my own heart." I smiled, sheepishly. While we had been talking, Cameron had dished up the food and we all sat down at the island. Dinner passed without any major fan girl moments. I had expected at least a dozen of them within minutes of seeing them but thankfully I held it together and kept my cool. Mostly. I still couldn't stop myself from staring at them sometimes. They were just so damn good looking! It was unfair for any human to look so perfect. With their perfect hair and warm, brown eyes, I was surprised that they didn't have girlfriends. And yes, I had asked Cameron. But only because I was just curious. No other reason but Cameron had still smirked at me and laughed.
